Northminster Presbyterian Church is a Protestant Christian community of the Presbyterian Church, USA. We attempt to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as they apply to our daily lives. As Jesus shared God’s love with all, we welcome and include all people. We believe in God’s commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself." We care for our neighbors in the local community and around the world through hands-on involvement, and by sharing our financial resources. We believe God created a diverse world for a reason and wants us to nurture, care for, and cultivate it. We believe God created all people as good, and asks us to share responsibility for the weak, the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and all who suffer. We honor God’s world and treasure all creation. In recognizing Christ’s calling to treat others as we desire to be treated, Northminster Presbyterian Church welcomes all people, regardless of sexual orientation, color, gender, religion, social or economic class, ethnicity, nationality or disability. We value all members of the community. We consciously strive to create an environment of mutual respect, hospitality and warmth in which none are strangers and all may flourish.

💙 Small Churches. Big Impact.

A church doesn't have to be big to make a big difference.

In a recent story from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a small congregation in Iowa reminds us that generosity isn't measured by the size of a church, but by the love and care it shares with others.

Through simple acts of kindness, small donations, and a shared commitment to helping their neighbors, this congregation is making a meaningful difference in its community and beyond.

It's a beautiful reminder that every act of generosity matters, every person has something to offer, and even the smallest communities can create lasting change.

At Northminster, we believe that being a church isn't about how many people fill the pews. It's about how we show up for one another and our neighbors. ❤️

May God meet us wherever this week takes us and remind us we are never alone.
Faithful God,
We trust that you are always at work in the world. And yet, you invite us into that work, year after year, day after day, hour after hour.
Help us to answer you calling.
Give us the courage to respond boldly.
Give us the endurance to keep at it even when we can see the impact.
Give us the hope that tomorrow will be a brighter day where the world will be filled even more by your love and faithful abundance.
Amen.

"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” John 5:24
Last week, we continued our journey through the Book of John, talking about when Jesus defends His deity, authority, and identity after the religious leaders accuse Him of breaking the Sabbath by healing a paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda and of making Himself equal with God.

May this week offer us reasons to pause, breathe, give thanks, and begin again.
Artful God,

the scarlet maples have flushed bright red
the tiny yellow leaves of the locust trees
twinkle in the wind as they fall to the ground
and in the beauty of the autumn colors
we know that some of the plants are dying
and others are going to sleep for the winter.
It is easy to look around and see only death.
But God, you are still at work.

You sent out the tiny workers of the natural world
the mushrooms, and fungus, and bacteria
who are very much alive
and grateful for the food of fallen leaves
that they will feast upon
turning them back into soil
from which new life will sprout again.

Help us to trust in your ways
that will see us through the darkness of death
to the new life that is waiting for us.
Amen.
