Loving God,
Before you generations rise and pass away,
And we praise you for all your servants
who, having lived this life in faith,
now live eternally with you.

Especially we thank you for your servant Dolly Parton,
whose baptism is now complete in death.
We praise you for the gift of her life,
for all in her that was good and kind and faithful,
for the grace you gave her, the love that he shared
the wisdom and curiosity that you kindled in her,
the little ones she inspired with the gift of books,
the beauty and music that she shared with the world,
and the passion that enabled her to serve you faithfully.
We thank you that for her death is past and pain ended,
and that he has now entered the joy you have prepared;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Young adults from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) recently attended the United Nations’ High-Level Political Forum, connecting faith with important issues facing our communities and our world.

We love seeing young people using their voices to make a difference. 💙

As August rolls into September and the weather turns, water cooler conversations among people of all ages will undoubtedly address the question: “What did you do this summer?” For 16 young adult Presbyterians, the answer will be, “We helped the United Nations work toward healing the world.”
