Shaping Hearts that Follow Jesus
This growth class is designed to equip parents with practical, biblical tools for raising children to know, love, and follow God. Rooted in Deuteronomy 6:4–9, this class will help you see that discipleship isn’t just a moment—it’s a way of life woven into everyday rhythms.

Tuesdays, September 8 and 22, from 6:00–7:30 PM in the Gray Zone.

Families who participate will also have the opportunity to take part in an optional Family Dedication on Sunday, October 4th, during 2nd service.

Sunday, Chris wrapped up our sermon series on Relationship Killers. We looked at communication this week in Proverbs 15. Biblical communication is about giving God control of our words and hearts, using gentle and wise speech that brings healing rather than destruction. We should pause before reacting, examine our hearts regularly, and ask the Holy Spirit to help us replace anger with gentle and thoughtful responses. As Chris said we are going to get bumped, when it happens what’s going to spill out? Do you need to change what is filling you up?

Real transformation does not start on the tip of the tongue; it starts in a heart surrendered to God who sees everything.

As we have wrapped up our series, meet with people who you need to make amends with, find a friend to talk to about them, or surrender them to God. If we do this, our relationships will continue to grow!

Yesterday we heard from some of the people who went to Pinehaven, one of the missions we support here at TCC. They shared about the Pinehaven Ranch as well as some of their experiences while they were there. Chris also continued our series, Relationship Killers, looking at lust this week. We looked at how lust rarely happens suddenly; it grows through imagination, desire, and ignoring warning signs. Lust can dominate and enslave a person, leading them farther into sin, but God provides a way out through accountability, self-control, and choosing to run from temptation.

Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you want to pay! God provides a way out and that way almost always is to run!
