What a great series that Chris topped off Sunday about how God’s truth anchors our faith, guides our choices, and helps us build strong relationships. We were in 3John which showed us that truth is not just something to understand, but something to live out daily through growth, faithfulness, and alignment with Jesus. John praises Gaius for both believing the truth and living according to it, encouraging believers to stay grounded in God’s ultimate truth rather than the changing ideas of the world.

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: First Impressions Team 🌟

Meet Kari Armstrong — one of the smiling faces helping welcome families each week at Troy Christian Church! 💛

Kari serves on the First Impressions Team as a door greeter on the kids side, helping create a warm and welcoming environment for families and children as they arrive for church.

Kari has been serving on the team for about 3 years and joined because she genuinely enjoys being around people and meeting new faces. 😊

She has been attending TCC since junior high, making TCC a longtime part of her life and faith journey.

In addition to serving on First Impressions, Kari has also participated in microgroups, women’s Bible study, and small groups — continuing to stay connected and grow alongside others in the church family. 🙌

💬 One thing God has taught her through serving:

“God can use anyone at any season.”

Her encouragement to anyone considering getting involved is simple but powerful:

“Don’t overthink it and just find a place you feel comfortable and called to.”

Kari also shared something especially meaningful from her personal faith journey. While she grew up learning Bible stories through family devotions and later enjoyed doing devotions with her own boys, she said it wasn’t until the past few years that she truly began reading through the Bible more deeply for herself.

“This year is my 2nd full year [reading through the Bible] and I still have a lot of questions, but I have enjoyed learning how God shows Himself and His love for His people throughout it all.”

📖 Such a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to grow deeper in God’s Word.

🍫 Favorite candy: Twix

Thank you, Kari, for faithfully welcoming families, serving with kindness, and reminding us all that God can use anyone in any season of life. 💒

Life was Better Together with Tables of Eight. This past weekend we had several groups that met on Friday and Saturday evening. They shared a meal, meaningful conversation and fellowship.
This is a great way to get to know each other, build community, and make new connections whether you’ve been here for years or new to TCC. Be on the lookout for the next Tables of Eight.
There’s Always a Seat at the Table.

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: First Impressions Team 🌟

Meet Kaye Plantz — one of the friendly faces helping make Troy Christian Church feel warm and welcoming each Sunday morning! 💛

Kaye serves on the First Impressions Team, greeting members as they arrive and helping at the communion table by keeping it filled while welcoming people into worship.

When asked what she loves most about serving, her answer was simple and joyful:

“Just talking to people and seeing so many smiles around me.”

Kaye has been serving in this ministry for approximately 5 years after being invited to join the team. What started as an invitation quickly became a meaningful way for her to connect with others and serve the church family. 🙌

She has been attending TCC for 8 years and loves being part of a ministry that helps people feel seen and welcomed from the moment they walk through the doors.

💬 Her encouragement for anyone considering serving:

“Serving God is what we are called to do. This is such a satisfying way to serve Him.”

🍫 Favorite candy: Anything Reese’s or caramel-filled
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Fun fact: Kaye’s 88-year-old mother lives with her, and she is blessed with 4 children and 7 grandchildren!

Thank you, Kaye, for your faithful service, welcoming smile, and for helping make TCC feel like home to so many people each week. 😊

TCC Kids have asked all of us to partner with them for “Summer Jam Gives”. This year they are gathering donations of “New” items (see list below) with a goal of 3,000 items that can be dropped off to either lobby at the church now through June 24th. Please note that only the items listed are what they will accept.

Our series, The Power of Three came to a close Sunday, as Chris talked about how Moses and Joshua emphasize that leadership is about faithfully passing on both the mission and faith to the next generation. Even though human leaders change, God’s kingdom and mission continue, so Christian leaders must equip the next generation to carry the baton forward. Remember life, community, and leadership are better together when we invite God to be the center.

Also, be sure to check out the TCC Kids video post here troycc.org/summer-jam-gives and let’s join together to support the Summer Jam Gives.
