Scripture lesson for today: Psalm 139: 13-16
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” NIV
As we approach Father’s Day we must be reminded of the greatness of God’s plans and designs for the gift of family; marriage, parenthood, and child rearing; fathers as the head of the household, the spiritual leader, the provider and protector; and the mother with so many job functions, too many to list, yet never to be taken for granted or dismissed; and the children as the pride and joy of their parents. But perhaps the best part of God’s plan is that He planned for each and every one of us long before we were born, knowing who we would become, giving us all the opportunity to be just like His Son.
Prayer: Creator God, Master and Originator of all things, we are truly blessed by all that you have proclaimed into existence. We are truly blessed for your design of family; husband and wife as father and mother, and the gift of children to complete the family as you have planned. Help us, O Lord, to carry out this plan to its perfection. Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: Romans 13: 11-14
“And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in or**es and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”
The signs are ever present in our lives—Jesus calls us to follow Him—to have a relationship with Him.
He longs to take us out of the darkness of this world and lead us into the kingdom of God.
He is the light that will show us the way.
But far too many of us love this world that we live in—we do not see it as God sees it and His Holy Spirit inspired words in 1 John 2 says: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”
It is time to come into the light!
Prayer: Lord God Almighty, we have not lived our lives as you would have us live them—forgive us and grant us the wisdom to know that the time for Jesus’ return is near. Help us to come out of the darkness of this world and into the light of your kingdom led by your Son, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: 1 Timothy 4: 1-16
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4: 1-2 NIV
Satan knows his time of rule is very short—he will soon be the prince of hell—not the prince of the world.
He has always known that he could not replace God—so, instead he has tried to take as many as he can with him—to his eternal home of hell.
Starting with the subtle deception that he gave Adam and Eve, that by partaking of the forbidden fruit they would gain the knowledge of good and evil and certainly not die from it, Satan has continuously set his demons to work in trying to deceive everyone to their abandonment of their faith.
He wants everyone—he will not stop deceiving—he will not stop finding new ways to convince us that there is no God and if we really believe that there is a God, then, he will find ways to make us doubt, fear and turn from what God’s Word teaches us and convince us that His Word is outdated, not applicable to today’s society—that the Word needs to be updated to fit our times.
Satan will cause death of loved ones—he will cause disasters that will make us think that God does not care for or love us.
When these things happen, know that Christ’s return in near.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, keep us from the teachings of those who do not know you. Grant us discernment to know your Word and the truth that it holds. Fill us with your Spirit that will lead us in all ways to keep the faith that Jesus has set within us. We ask these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: Deuteronomy 10: 14-17
“To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. Yet the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today. Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer. For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.” NIV
From the earliest written scriptures all the way through the end scripture of the Revelation, we find a God, the Triune God, which is beyond explanation. No words can describe Him; He is just and righteous; He is pure and ever-loving; He is mighty and awesome; He is the God of all gods, the Lord of all lords, the King of all kings; He is our all in all. In every prayer we pray we should thank Him and praise Him for Him being who He is, who He was and always will be; never changing. And the remarkable thing is that He loves us all equally, unconditionally, and without reserve.
Prayer: Most Gracious Lord, it is hard to imagine how and why you love us so. You, who made all things, control all things and has the power, knowledge, and ability to do all things, take the time and effort to be by our side, to guide us, and to knock at the door of our hearts, patiently waiting for us to open the door and let you in. You are an amazing, loving, and caring God; praise be to you! Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: Colossians 3: 12-17
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3: 12-14
To love and care for others, having compassion on them, requires us to overcome many obstacles that often get in our way of doing so. It is something that takes kindness, gentleness, and patience; but perhaps the two greatest obstacles are humility and forgiveness, placing other’s needs as a priority and the thought of forgiving someone who has either made things not so good for us or have outright hurt us. Yet, this is what Jesus did for all people and we are called to do the same.
Prayer: Father God, you have blessed us as your children to be holy and deeply and dearly loved. Now we ask that you bless us with love and compassion for others; a gift from you as demonstrated to us in Jesus’ actions while He was here on earth in human form showing us how we, too, might follow your ways. Amen.
