Scripture lesson for today: Romans 13: 11-14
“And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in or**es and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”
The signs are ever present in our lives—Jesus calls us to follow Him—to have a relationship with Him.
He longs to take us out of the darkness of this world and lead us into the kingdom of God.
He is the light that will show us the way.
But far too many of us love this world that we live in—we do not see it as God sees it and His Holy Spirit inspired words in 1 John 2 says: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”
It is time to come into the light!
Prayer: Lord God Almighty, we have not lived our lives as you would have us live them—forgive us and grant us the wisdom to know that the time for Jesus’ return is near. Help us to come out of the darkness of this world and into the light of your kingdom led by your Son, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: Colossians 3: 12-17
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3: 12-14
To love and care for others, having compassion on them, requires us to overcome many obstacles that often get in our way of doing so. It is something that takes kindness, gentleness, and patience; but perhaps the two greatest obstacles are humility and forgiveness, placing other’s needs as a priority and the thought of forgiving someone who has either made things not so good for us or have outright hurt us. Yet, this is what Jesus did for all people and we are called to do the same.
Prayer: Father God, you have blessed us as your children to be holy and deeply and dearly loved. Now we ask that you bless us with love and compassion for others; a gift from you as demonstrated to us in Jesus’ actions while He was here on earth in human form showing us how we, too, might follow your ways. Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: Ephesians 2: 1-10
“ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV
One of the greatest things that God has given to us and must be remembered each and every day is the gift of who God created us to be and the work that God has set aside for us to do long before we were born. Now that may seem contrary to all things taught by today’s worldly ways and that it is. The world says live for yourself; look out for number one (you), and don’t waste your time, money or resources on anything but the glorification of yourself. But in this, most come to the conclusion that they still have a deep void to fill in their lives; that something is lacking. That something is Jesus Christ and in Him we find the purpose of life, the way of life, and the satisfaction of life that we get out of being who God created us to be doing the work He prepared for us to do. Let us remember that God has a perfect plan for each of us, a plan to prosper us, to give us hope and a future. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
Prayer: Great and Gracious Father, you have given to us much more than we could ever expect, want, or need. Help us to have a thankful heart that may drive us and give us the desire to be the faithful servants that can only be copied by following your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: 2 Corinthians 11: 1-15
“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11: 3-4; 13-15 NIV
Satan will distort every word of Christ that he can through filling our heads with false meanings of God’s Word. Yes, he will use scripture to turn us away from Jesus for he knows that if he does not, then he will never replace God. He is a master of words and he will twist the truth into falseness. Many will follow his twisted deceptions of God’s Word because they might even make sense in this world. But let us remember that Jesus in not of this world, nor are we to be.
Prayer: Almighty God, giver of all wisdom, your grace endures forever. Grant us the promised wisdom of your Word, not as man wants it to be seen, but as you want it to be known. We stand in expectation for this blessing. Amen.

Scripture lesson for today: John 15: 9-15
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” NIV
Complete joy, the joy of knowing that we are loved by God, this is the joy that God desires us to receive and keep in our hearts. As we wait for the Lord’s return we can rest assured that Jesus is with us and that He is our friend; a friend like no other, a friend that bears our sins, griefs, sorrows, and pains; a faithful friend who takes us through the trials and tribulations of life and encourages us lean on Him in all things giving us solace and comfort; a true friend who brings joy into our lives now and forever more.
Prayer: Great and Gracious Father, our joy overflows with the thought of Jesus being our friend, and being loved by God, the Son. Let us never forget or dismiss that love and now we ask that you keep us in forever joy. Amen.
