We seek to be your neighborhood church where God is praised and people are loved. You are invited to join us for live, in-person worship in our Sanctuary at 10 a.m. Beginning Sunday, May 22, our worship service moves outdoors for the summer season. We all need to re-connect with God, make some new friends and re-energize our lives. We invite you to do all three things at First Presbyterian Church

of Troy, where we invite you to arrive casual and leave fulfilled. To find out more, email [email protected] or call 248-689-0112. Meet Pastor Dan
Pastor Dan is a bi-vocational pastor, meaning he works a full-time job in the community and serves as a pastor part-time. He became a pastor about 10 years ago and joined FPC-Troy around Christmas of 2018. He and his wife, Kim, have 4 adult children.

“I believe a relationship with Jesus can provide meaning and purpose to our lives. Coming out of Covid-19, I think we could all benefit by finding some new friends in the church and deepening our relationship with God.”

Message from Pastor Dan:
“I’ve been sitting with Daniel 6 this week, and I have to tell you, it certainly hits a bit different as an adult than how my granddaughter sees it…While we often treat Daniel in the Lions Den like some kind of a "zoo story" from Sunday School, it’s actually a heavy-hitting lesson in what Presbyterians call “Two Kingdoms” theology.
Daniel’s stubborn habit of prayer isn’t just a routine thing, for him, it was a form of resistance against the worldly empire in which he lived. He understood that while he served a king, his ultimate allegiance belonged to the King of Kings.

Daniel’s work life was so beyond reproach that his enemies had to literally invent a law to trip him up. But the real beauty here is the foreshadow for what comes next: Daniel in that sealed pit, surrounded by death, is a vivid advance image of Jesus in the tomb. Both were innocent, both were "buried" behind a stone, and both walked out at dawn to prove that God gets the final word over every lion and every grave.”
🙏 Join us tonight to continue our study in the Book of Daniel!

Join SPARK for a meal and Bible study Sunday, March 15 from 5:00-7:00P.M.

“Last week, the Spark Bible Study concluded its look at "Who Was Jesus?" based on the Gospel of Mark.

This Sunday, we will launch into a short, two-week study to ask the question "Could Judas Iscariot Be Saved?" Judas is a fascinating person in history. By asking if he could be saved, we will learn a bit about Jesus and a bit about what salvation is.

If you haven't been to Spark in a while, here's a fresh start for a short study perfect for the season of Lent. I hope to see you Sunday!”

SPARK meal and Bible study 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

“Hi Spark friends.

Last week we discussed the trial of Jesus at some length. This week, we’ll examine his crucifixion. Included in the discussion will be your questions and comments and my thoughts on Mark 15:38, which may be the single-most important verse in the entire Bible. Don’t believe me? I’d love to hear your nominees. And I’ll be sure to share my reasons.

Also, last week, we may have set a new high-water mark for our shared meal, with a crock-pot dish of potatoes. What will Sunday bring?

Hope to see you then!

Pastor Dan”
