Community Bible Study begins September 5, 2023 in person or virtual. We meet at Troy Christian Chapel at 400 E Long Lake E of Livernois.

This year we will be studying both the Old Testament books of Ruth, and 1st and 2nd Samuel and Ephesians. Details below.

The Old Testament books of Ruth and 1 and 2 Samuel describe the faith journeys of men and women like us. Sure, they may have been prophets or priests, or kings—but they were also sons and daughters, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers. They struggled in the same ways we do. They experienced deferred hopes and dreams, broken relationships, shameful failures and personal trauma, just as we do. It’s what they did with those disappointments that matters. In this study, you will see people who took their pain and anger to God—and those who did not. And in either case, you will see how God remained faithful.

See How King David’s Great Grandmother came to be mentioned in Lineage of Jesus. We will learn how Samuel became Israel’s Judge, Saul Israel’s 1st King, then King David ( servant of God ) , his successes and failures, establishing Israel as God’s peoples’ stronghold.

We are on break until January 7 2020. Our class just completed the book of Exodus - what a great story of the life of Moses. I love seeing God work with the Israelites to teach them His ways and begin to prepare them for the coming Messiah. We saw how Moses grew from a reluctant leader with no confidence to a respected and powerful leader who spent time with God. Starting in January, we will study God's laws further when we begin reading Leviticus. Please join us Tuesday evenings 7:10 pm at Troy Christian Chapel on Long Lake Rd. Men's, Women's and couples classes available. You can start any time, just show up. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE!

Just finished learning about Moses' early life; from God saving him from death through the adoption by Pharaoh's daughter, to the killing of an Egyptian that was beating a Hebrew slave to his 40 years in Midian. At the same time, Israel prayed, God heard and remembered his covenant (Exodus 2:24).

I thought, what can be interesting studying Leviticus and Numbers? I was wrong. We are learning how Jesus is present in all scripture. You just have to look for Him.
In Leviticus, we will be learning about the nature and holiness of God and in Numbers, God's care and protection.
