A document from the Islamic Fatwa Council holds Hamas responsible for "its own reign of corruption and terror against Palestinian civilians within Gaza." This forty-page document is a well-informed, carefully considered ruling about the Hamas contribution to the challenges of Gaza's population. There is no academic justification for the genocide of Israelis.

I am writing to express my grief and solidarity with you following the horrific attack on Israel last Saturday. I am broken hearted at the slaughter of innocents, many of whom were children and teenagers. With you, I fear for those who have been abducted. Antisemitism is an affront to the Holy One, before whom I am lifting fervent prayers. I am praying for Israel, for the safe return of those who have been abducted and for your congregation at this very tragic time. Please also be assured that I will not be silent.

We, the people of Hope United Methodist Church, extend to you, the people of Temple Beth El, our sympathy, support, and prayers as you walk through the horror, grief, and trauma following the heinous terror attack against the civilians of Israel on October 7.

We know that we cannot begin to understand what you are enduring right now, but we want you to know that we stand with you, and wait to hear how we can come alongside you in the days ahead.

We pray for those who mourn the death of family and friends, and the destruction of homes, schools, work places and communities. We pray for the healing of the injured. We pray for the safe return of those kidnapped and taken captive. We pray for wisdom for political and military leaders. We pray for you as you pray and seek divine help.
