St. Thomas More Catholic Church

St. Thomas More Catholic Church We are a Roman Catholic Church in Troy, Michigan, dedicated to knowing, loving and serving Jesus, and helping others do the same. We're glad you're here!

Here, you can stay up to date on all the happenings in our parish community. Our Purpose at St. Thomas More is to know, love and serve Jesus, and to help others do the same. We get to know Jesus primarily through building relationships with our neighbor and strengthening those relationships by worshipping together around the Eucharistic banquet--which is a taste of heaven itself. Come and worship with us and then get to know us over a cup of coffee after Mass!

The week after Pentecost, we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. We mention the Trinity in passing every day. But do we really pray, worship, and go about our religion knowing that God is really Three Persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

A Catholic theologian once lamented that if the doctrine of the Trinity was suddenly dropped, most of what we say and do could remain unchanged.

That's a problem, because the heart of Christianity is that God has revealed Himself. He wants us to know Him, and so He has given us this astounding secret about His inner life!

Let's take today's Feast Day to reflect on the Trinity, and invite the Father, Son and Spirit into our daily lives!

Come and celebrate Trinity Sunday with us at STM in Troy: 4:30 PM Saturday, 8:30 & 11:30 AM Sunday. We can't wait to see you there!

It gives me great joy to announce that one of our dedicated parishioners, Eden Diver, has been accepted into the postulancey of the Midwest Conventual Franciscans, the first step in discerning a vocation to the Franciscan Friars. While we will miss him dearly as a regular presence on Sundays and as a devoted Catechist, we are so grateful that his discernment over the past several years has led him to this moment.

Eden will move to Chicago in early July to live in community with twelve other young men beginning this same discernment. Please remember to pray for them--and all vocations--as they depart for the next big stage in their discernment journey. And be sure to congratulate Eden if you see him at Mass!

Most importantly, remember to encourage vocations every chance you get!

This past weekend, four young men were ordained to the priesthood out of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Please pray for them as they celebrate this joyful time and prepare for a life of service to the Lord and His Church!

We thank God for our priests and religious sisters. Please ask the Lord what simple things He is calling you to do to foster vocations in your life. Perhaps there are young men or women in your life that simply need an invitation to listen to God's will. Perhaps stories like this one just need to be shared, so the world can see there are dedicated young people who are filled with joy at the prospect of giving their lives to God.

St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests, pray for us!

Today we honor Saint Rita of Cascia — patron saint of impossible causes, difficult marriages, and situations that seem beyond hope.

St. Rita knew deep suffering: loss, hardship, and heartbreak. Yet through it all, she remained faithful to Christ with remarkable patience, forgiveness, and trust in God’s mercy. Her life reminds us that holiness is not found in a perfect life, but in a faithful one.

As we celebrate her feast day, may we bring to the Lord the intentions that weigh heavily on our hearts — especially the prayers we think are impossible. Through the intercession of St. Rita, may we never lose hope in God’s power to heal, restore, and guide us forward.

Being an Augustinian, she is also a patron of Pope Leo! So be sure to pray for him on this great Augustinian feast.
