Faith Extended: Paul - From Persecutor to Apostle
Acts 9: 1-30; Galatians 1:11-24

The gospel never stays put. It always extends – into cities, into cultures, into public life. When we encounter the good news of Jesus Christ and are equipped to live a transformed life in community, we become ambassadors of Jesus in the world. Our life becomes a public witness when we extend the gospel beyond ourselves. This summer, Troy Methodist Church will travel with the Apostle Paul through much of his second missionary journey and see how his life shows us what happens when faith extends beyond ourselves to become outward mission. But first we will begin with the person of Paul himself: what transpired in his life to go from a persecutor of the church to an apostle, sent to share the good news of Jesus with the world.

Join us this Sunday as we kick off a new series, Faith Extended, and discover how God is calling you to live beyond yourself!

NEXT STEPS TO CONNECT
Sunday, June 7, 11:45 a.m., Upper Family Life Center

You are cordially invited to attend our upcoming Connect Lunch in June! If you have never attended a Connect Lunch and would like to find ways to “connect” at TMC, we would love for you to save the date for our upcoming lunch on Sunday, June 7, at 11:45 a.m. in the Upper Family Life Center.

During our time together, we will have lunch from Fire and Smoke BBQ, and you will have the opportunity to learn about the ministries of Troy Methodist Church. From journey groups to serving opportunities, we would love to share with you a variety of ways to get involved. We will also have ample opportunities for you to ask questions and will finish our time together with a tour of the building!

Childcare is provided upon request, and if you have questions or would like to RSVP, feel free to reach out to Bonnie, our Discipleship Pastor, at [email protected].

This summer, we will again be participating in the summer lunch program in both the Troy and St. Jacob communities. This program provides meals Monday through Friday, in addition to a backpack program to cover weekend meals so that the children and youth in our community have access to food all summer long. This program continues through the day before school starts, with the hope that no child goes without a meal on any given day!

Our church family will be volunteering on Mondays at both the Troy and St. Jacob locations. If you would like to volunteer, sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084FA4A82DA6FEC61-63956484-2026 #/ and pick your days and locations! If you have questions or need help signing up, reach out to Pastor Bonnie at [email protected].

Unoffendable: The Difference It Makes
Deuteronomy 30:19-20

This Sunday, as we come together to worship, we will be wrapping up our Unoffendable sermon series. For six weeks, we have reflected on what it means to live an anger-free life, and on Sunday, we will talk about the difference it truly can make in our own lives and in our communities. Scripture tells us in the book of Deuteronomy that every day, in every situation, we have choices to make, and one of those choices is between life and death. Choosing to live an anger-free life is choosing life over death! We’ve started this important work together; let’s continue to be refined as we journey with Jesus this Sunday!

The church office will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
