May the LORD have blessed our Lenten Journey

40 Days of "Thought Conditioners" adapted from Peale

40) Rev 7:16-17 "They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them, and shall lead them into living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

"In Christ, there is a hope of tomorrow - a tomorrow with no worries of a solid home, a tomorrow with no concerns of having food to eat, a tomorrow with no dreading of extreme weather, a tomorrow with no sadness. This hope of tomorrow can be a powerful driving force to carry us through the things we deal with in this life today. Just as we now know that there is no place like our current home (where we find comfort and peace), the hope of tomorrow holds the same sentiment - harboring our true home.

In Christ, we need to have a 'picture' in our pocket of our 'true home.' As we look at our 'picture of home,' then the issues we deal with now will grow strangely dim and we will know these present concerns are only for a moment. In Christ, this world is not our 'home.' We are just passing through headed to our 'true home.'"

40 Days of - Thought

39) Mark 11:25 "When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have fought against any."

"If we feel that our spiritual lives seem to be running on empty then we need check and see if we are harboring any resentment, anger, or unforgiveness. Mark 11:25 as well as in the LORD's Prayer, we see that our forgiveness from the LORD is based on our forgiveness of others. If forgiveness and reconciliation are the desires our LORD has revealed as needing to be a part of this world then why would we neglect letting them be at the forefront of how we respond to other people? May we be forgiving. May we be reconciling. May we be restored to the ouporing our LORD has for us because we follow the LORD's desires."

40 Days of - Thought

38) Psalm 34:4 "I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

As a child, one thing that would cure our fears was just being in the presence of our parents. No storm could rattle us, no monster could shake us, no darkness could worry us - when our parents were around. We would look unto our parents, they would hear our anxiety, and they would calm our fears. If our earthly parents with a limited ability are able to calm us then imagine what the LORD can do with an unlimited ability.

40 Days of - Thought

37) Isa 28:12 "This is the Refreshing."

"Everyone likes to experience times of being refreshed. From jumping into a body of water on a hot day to drinking a tall glass of ice cold water after working hard in the beating sun. We like to get a good night's sleep after a very taxing day. We like the way our computer acts normal after a "refresh" boot."

As the narrative of Isa 28:7-13 flows, the LORD was offering a "refreshing." The problem was that the people the LORD was talking to would not hear. The result was that the people did not receive a "time of refreshing." A glass of water, a body of water, a night of rest, and the refreshing from the LORD are only as refreshing as we allow them to be a part of our lives.
