This morning, we had the honor of celebrating our 2026 graduates. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and all they have accomplished.
We pray for their continued success as they step into this next chapter of life. May they walk confidently in who they are, carry the lessons they’ve learned, and always remember they are deeply loved and supported. We can’t wait to see all that God has in store for their future, and we know they will go on to do amazing things.

With sadness we share the passing of Deborah Stell's mom.

Carolyn Carter Fannin

Carolyn Carter Fannin, age 92, of the Shady Grove Community, died Friday, May 8, 2026.

Funeral services will follow visitation at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, with Mike Tatom officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Edgar Lee Fannin; father: James Sanders Carter; mother: Ruth Chestnut Carter; brother: James Sanders Carter Jr.

She is survived by her sister: Sandra Somerset; children: Nathan Alan Fannin (Elaine), Susan Fannin Fearing (Malcolm), Deborah Fannin Stell; grandchildren: Aleta Fannin, Ruth Fannin, Alan Fannin (Julie), Kathryn Fearing, Allison Martin (Ted), Margaret Northrup (Paul), Lee Stell, Audie Stell (Becca), Susie Silagy (Izac); great grandchildren: Lexie Tillery, Lance Tillery, Lacy Stephens, Mason Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Hudson Fannin, Mary Kathryn Fearing-Gore, Carolyn Fearing-Gore, Keith Martin, Olivia Martin, Edgar Martin, Oliver Northrup, Valerie Northrup, John Lawson Stell; great-great grandchildren: La'Lani Rodgers, Nellie Carver.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Fannin, Lee Stell, Audie Stell, Ted Martin, Paul Northrup, and Izac Silagy.

Instead of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Shady Grove Memorial Fund: c/o Oren Fannin- 10522 County Road 1101 Goshen, AL 36035 or to your favorite charity.
