Holy Thursday...
"Today, He who suspended the earth in the waters is suspended on a cross. The King of the Angels wears a crown of thorns. He who wraps the sky in clouds is wrapped in a fake purple robe. He who freed Adam in the Jordan accepts to be slapped. The Bridegroom of the Church is fixed with nails to the cross. The Son of the Virgin is pierced with a spear. We worship Your Passion, O Christ. Show us also Your glorious Resurrection."

FAQ...
What is the Nicene Creed?

For Orthodox Christians, the Nicene Creed is a concise statement of Faith that keeps the focus on what is most important. Recited during every Orthodox Divine Liturgy, the Creed is both a basic summary and a declaration of Christian beliefs. For Orthodox Christians, the creed serves to reaffirm the Faith every time it is recited. It also shows those who are not Orthodox Christians exactly what Orthodox Christians believe.

FAQ...
How long is the Sunday morning service?

The Divine Liturgy is about 90 minutes long. The first half of the Divine Liturgy is centered around hymns, the Epistle and Gospel readings, and the sermon. The second half of the service is centered on the consecration of Holy Communion and its distribution.

Before the Divine Liturgy, there is a service called Orthros or Matins. You may come to Orthros or you may come at the start of the Divine Liturgy.

FAQ...
Do I need to be Greek to attend a Greek Orthodox Church?

The word “Greek” in Greek Orthodox Church refers to the historical origins of our Church (which goes all the way back to Christ and the Apostles). Many communities were founded by immigrants from Greece, but most communities today are quite diverse, and no matter your background, you are welcome!
