Hey, friends! We need YOU to help make Fall Fest a success!

This is our second ask, and we could really use your help! We’re looking for more people to host a trunk or table at Fall Fest. Right now, we only have 5 trunks signed up, and that’s just not nearly enough for the size of the event we host!
Never hosted a trunk before? Don’t worry! It’s easier than you think. Here’s all you need to do:

Come up with a fun theme. Keep it simple!
Pass out candy.
Optional: Organize a super-simple game for the kids if you’d like!

You can purchase an easy trunk-or-treat kit on Amazon or create your own using one of the hundreds of ideas you can find online. You don’t have to go overboard. Simple and fun is perfect!

Why does this matter? Fall Fest is an opportunity to welcome hundreds of people from our community, many of whom may not regularly walk through our church doors. It’s a fun, welcoming, no-pressure way to connect with our neighbors and show them the love of Jesus. Sometimes, the simplest interactions can make the biggest impact!

October 25 from 4–6 PM in the FLC, rain or shine!
You can set up after church on the 25th or come anytime after 3 PM.

Church family! The Kidmin area needs your help!
Over the next week or so you’ll see me post what we need for Fall Fest.

We need Little Debbie/Hostess Cakes for our cake walk. Hostess Cakes are $1.99 today only at Schnucks. Also, 1 liter Coke products are $1.49.

The hostess deal ends TODAY!

If you’re able to, could you buy some for the kids’ cake walk?

Please make sure to watch for expiration dates for the boxed treats.

Of course we need lots of candy too!

Tweens Are Back!

4th–6th Grade | Wednesdays, 5:00–6:00 PM | Children’s Ministry Area

Starting September 16, Tweens will meet each Wednesday through October 7, then again October 21–November 11. This is a place to hang out, have fun, ask big questions, and grow in your faith with friends. Each week brings a mix of devotionals, hands-on experiments, games, and real-life conversations around topics like “Who Am I?” “Under Pressure,” “Think Again,” and more!

TWEENS ARE BACK!

Got a 4th–6th grader who is ready to hang out, have fun, ask some BIG questions, and maybe get a little messy along the way? We’ve got them covered!

Tweens meets Wednesdays from 5:00–6:00 PM in the Children’s Ministry area. We’ll mix devotionals, hands-on experiments, games, and real conversations that help kids connect faith to the world they’re navigating right now.

This fall, we’ll tackle topics like Who Am I? • Under Pressure • Think Again... and more!

We will meet the following Wednesdays in the Fall:
Sept. 16–Oct. 7
Oct. 21–Nov. 11

This is a safe space where kids can be themselves, build friendships, have fun, and grow in their faith without feeling like they’re just sitting in another class.

Today we learned about Moses and the burning bush!

We did a little science experiment to represent the bush that burned but wasn’t consumed by the fire. Thankfully, no fire alarms went off, and the kids were completely fascinated. They immediately wanted to go home and recreate it.

No, parents. I did not tell them exactly what I used. On purpose. You’re welcome.

We also talked about Moses’ first response to meeting the Living God—and yep, the kids got to hear the very relatable truth that Moses whined, made excuses, and tried pretty hard to get out of what God was asking him to do.

Which led us to our bigger lesson: Sometimes God calls us to hard things. We may feel scared, unsure, or completely unqualified. We may even have a few “But God…” moments.

But just as God promised Moses, He is with us.
We don’t have to do hard things alone. We can trust God, even when we don’t understand what He’s doing or feel ready for what He’s asking us to do.

Also…apparently science + a burning bush + telling kids Moses whined = a pretty great Sunday.
