Tweens Are Back!

4th–6th Grade | Wednesdays, 5:00–6:00 PM | Children’s Ministry Area

Starting September 16, Tweens will meet each Wednesday through October 7, then again October 21–November 11. This is a place to hang out, have fun, ask big questions, and grow in your faith with friends. Each week brings a mix of devotionals, hands-on experiments, games, and real-life conversations around topics like “Who Am I?” “Under Pressure,” “Think Again,” and more!

TWEENS ARE BACK!

Got a 4th–6th grader who is ready to hang out, have fun, ask some BIG questions, and maybe get a little messy along the way? We’ve got them covered!

Tweens meets Wednesdays from 5:00–6:00 PM in the Children’s Ministry area. We’ll mix devotionals, hands-on experiments, games, and real conversations that help kids connect faith to the world they’re navigating right now.

This fall, we’ll tackle topics like Who Am I? • Under Pressure • Think Again... and more!

We will meet the following Wednesdays in the Fall:
Sept. 16–Oct. 7
Oct. 21–Nov. 11

This is a safe space where kids can be themselves, build friendships, have fun, and grow in their faith without feeling like they’re just sitting in another class.

Today we learned about Moses and the burning bush!

We did a little science experiment to represent the bush that burned but wasn’t consumed by the fire. Thankfully, no fire alarms went off, and the kids were completely fascinated. They immediately wanted to go home and recreate it.

No, parents. I did not tell them exactly what I used. On purpose. You’re welcome.

We also talked about Moses’ first response to meeting the Living God—and yep, the kids got to hear the very relatable truth that Moses whined, made excuses, and tried pretty hard to get out of what God was asking him to do.

Which led us to our bigger lesson: Sometimes God calls us to hard things. We may feel scared, unsure, or completely unqualified. We may even have a few “But God…” moments.

But just as God promised Moses, He is with us.
We don’t have to do hard things alone. We can trust God, even when we don’t understand what He’s doing or feel ready for what He’s asking us to do.

Also…apparently science + a burning bush + telling kids Moses whined = a pretty great Sunday.

Back-to-School Family Devotional How To:

Kits have been released over the last two weeks, and I hope many of you have had a chance to look through your Back-to-School Family Devotional Kit! If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late to start.

The goal isn’t to add one more thing to your family’s already-full schedule. It’s simply to give you some easy ways to pause, connect, encourage your kids, and spend a little time together in God’s Word.

Here are a few things included:
• Bible Scavenger Hunt — Just a few minutes a day for your family to search Scripture together.
• Table Talk — Place it on your table during dinner to help start meaningful conversations around God’s Word. There is a QR code that links to a song to help memorize the Friuts of the Spirit.
• Apple Game — There’s a little apple included with directions for a quick and fun family game.
• Prayer Cube — This one requires a little assembly with tape, but it gives you a simple way to encourage your kids t pray for others.
• Free kids meal at a local restaurant

And don’t feel like you have to stop at dinner! The included lunch notes are a great way to send a quick message to your kiddo during the school day. A few words from you can remind them that they are loved, prayed for, capable, and never walking through their day alone.

Most importantly, don’t underestimate what happens when we make time to be together and open God’s Word. Those little moments may seem ordinary, but they create space for our kids to ask questions, hear truth, feel connected, and learn that faith isn’t just something we talk about at church—it’s something we live out together as a family.

You don’t have to do it perfectly. A few minutes around the table, a verse before school, a question in the car, or a little note tucked into a lunchbox can make a lasting difference.

Let’s start this school year by reminding our kids that they are deeply loved by their families and, even more importantly, deeply loved by God.

POP UP SUNDAY!

We popped into prayer today! Our kids rotated through four prayer stations as we prayed for our teachers, friends, schools, and families. We talked about Joshua 1:9 and the reminder that God calls us to be strong and courageous because He is with us wherever we go.

As our kids head into a brand-new school year, we want to encourage parents to lead your family in faith at home, too! Our Back to School Family Discipleship Kits are packed with fun, meaningful ways to pray, learn Scripture, and grow together as a family.
