Bible in a Year Week 34
As we continued our Bible reading journey this week through Daniel 11–12, 1 Kings 1–8, Ephesians 3–6, and Proverbs 20–24, I was reminded that God is faithful to His promises, calls us to spiritual maturity, and desires wisdom to guide our daily lives.
In Daniel 11–12, we completed the book of Daniel. These final chapters contain visions of future kingdoms, conflicts, and God's ultimate victory. Chapter 11 deals specifically with a vision of future earthly conflicts among nations, revealing that God is sovereign even over the rise and fall of kingdoms. Chapter 12 shifts the focus to the end of the age and the promise of resurrection, where some will rise to everlasting life and glory while others will rise to shame and everlasting contempt. While some details can be difficult to understand, the overall message is clear: God remains in control of history, and His people can trust Him no matter what lies ahead

In 1 Kings 1–8, we see the beginning of Solomon's reign. Rather than asking for wealth or power, Solomon asked God for wisdom to lead His people. God honored that request and blessed him abundantly. We also read about the construction and dedication of the Temple, a powerful reminder of God's desire to dwell among His people.

In Ephesians 3–6, Paul encourages believers to understand the depth of Christ's love, live in unity, and put on the full armor of God. One verse that stood out to me was Ephesians 4:1, where Paul urges us to "walk in a manner worthy of the calling" we have received. As I have been walking this journey with my mom and cancer once again, I have found myself continually praying through Ephesians 6, asking God to cover me, my family, and my mom with His full armor. There have been moments of uncertainty and fear, but I have found peace in knowing that He is doing exactly that. These chapters remind me that our faith is not just something we believe—it is something we live each day, trusting that God equips and strengthens us for whatever lies ahead.
In Proverbs 20–24, Solomon continues to offer practical wisdom for everyday life. These chapters emphasize integrity, humility, self-control, diligence, and wise decision-making. Again and again, we see that true wisdom begins with fearing the Lord and applying His truth to our daily choices.

This week's readings reminded me that God is sovereign over history, generous in providing wisdom, and faithful to equip us for the life He has called us to live. Whether through Daniel's perseverance, Solomon's wisdom, or Paul's encouragement, God continues to shape His people through His Word.
