Bible in a Year Week 23
This week’s readings took us through some powerful stories of perseverance, restoration, and God’s faithfulness.

In Judges 15–21, we saw the final chapters of Israel’s downward spiral. Samson continued to act on his own desires, and the book ends with a sobering reminder: “Everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” These chapters show what happens when God’s people drift from His truth and leadership.

In Nehemiah 1–6, the focus shifts to restoration. Nehemiah’s heart broke for Jerusalem, and he responded with prayer, courage, and action. Despite opposition, ridicule, and threats, God enabled the people to rebuild the wall in just 52 days. Nehemiah reminds us that prayer and perseverance can accomplish great things when God is at the center.

Our journey in Acts 27–28 followed Paul through a violent storm, shipwreck, and finally to Rome. Through every trial, God remained faithful to His promises. Even in chains, Paul continued sharing the gospel and encouraging others.

In Romans 1–3, Paul lays the foundation of the gospel. He makes it clear that all people have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, but he also points to the incredible hope we have through faith in Jesus Christ. We are not saved by our own efforts but by God’s grace.

Finally, Psalms 116–119 filled our hearts with praise and devotion. Psalm 119 especially celebrates the beauty, wisdom, and guidance found in God’s Word. Time and again, the psalmist reminds us that God’s commands are a source of life, comfort, and direction.

This week’s readings challenge us to ask: Are we following our own way, or God’s way? May we, like Nehemiah and Paul, remain faithful in every season and find our strength in God’s Word.

🏕️ VBS Needs Your Help! 🏕️

We're looking to borrow wire cooling racks with legs for VBS activities. If you're willing to lend one, please place it on the stage and label it with your name so we can return it to you.

We're also collecting camping gear and outdoor-themed items to help decorate for VBS. Tents, backpacks, lanterns, camping chairs, and other camping décor are welcome! Please place those on the stage as well and be sure to label anything you'd like returned.

Thank you for helping us create an amazing VBS experience for our kids!

What a blessed few weeks at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church!

We give thanks to God as we celebrate two of our young members, Cohen P & Brooks H, receiving their First Communion. It has been a joy to witness this important step in their faith journey and to share in this special milestone with their families.

Bible in a Year week 22
This week we journeyed through some powerful stories of God's faithfulness and human weakness.
In Judges 5–14, we saw the victory song of Deborah and Barak, reminding us that God works through willing hearts. We also met Gideon, who moved from fear to faith as God used him to deliver Israel. Take 20 minutes to watch the video and better understand the significance of Gideon in this book. Later, we were introduced to Samson, a man blessed with great strength but often led astray by his own desires. Throughout Judges, we see a recurring pattern: God's people wander, God remains faithful, and He continually raises up leaders to rescue them. There is so much to unpack in these chapters of Judges but ultimately it goes back to God being faithful!

In Acts 22–26, Paul boldly shared his testimony and defended the Gospel before crowds, governors, and even King Agrippa. Despite imprisonment and opposition, Paul never stopped proclaiming Christ. His example challenges us to be ready to share our faith, trusting God to use our story for His glory.

The Psalms (111–115) centered our hearts on praise and worship. These songs celebrate God's mighty works, His faithfulness to His covenant, and His enduring love. We are reminded that while idols are powerless, the Lord alone is worthy of our trust and praise.
