We had such a wonderful time at Kamp Kairos this year. The Lord showed up and showed out. It was such an amazing experience and we are already looking forward to next year.

Kamp Kairos Update: Day 5 is officially over with that, our time at camp has come to a close. We ended the week worshipping on the boardwalk at the beach. The last in-service game had no winners, except for Carter (The MC) as it was practically impossible to do beachside with the wind blowing. The competitors had to stack 7 large boxes on top of each other and every time they thought of a clever way, the MC would say that’s against the rules 😂. It was fun to watch.

CP Bobby during the morning worship preached from Matthew 9 about being more like Christ. We must:
1. Open our eyes-see people around us as Jesus sees them.
2. Open our hearts-have compassion for the people we come in contact with.
3. Open our mouth-be the one beggar that tells another beggar where to find the bread of life.

For our last worship service in the evening, CP Bobby preached from 2 Corinthians 11 and spoke on Communion.
1. Remember the name-Whether you refer to it as Communion, The Lord’s Supper, or Eucharist, each have a distinct meaning but all point to Jesus.
2. Remember the sacrifice-Jesus took on all sin past, present, and future for each and everyone of us.
3. Remember the mission-We are to proclaim His death for us and resurrection until He returns.

We then had Communion on the beach as a church group and closed camp off in worship. Eric Skates, Kamp Kairos director spoke of the prodigal son in his closing remarks to let those that may have not moved this week know that they can can back to the Father and celebration will commence upon their return.

Kamp Kairos update: Day 4 just continued where day 3 left off. Our morning breakout session focused on “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” We used Matthew chapter 18. The disciples had a preconceived notion as to the answer to the question. Jesus called a child to the center and told them that they must humble themselves like this child. Children are completely dependent on someone. We are to be completely dependent on God, because He is the greatest!

Morning Worship-We had something happen that has not happened to us yet, we lost the in-service game. We may have lost the belt, but we haven’t lost our resolve. CP Bobby continued where he left off yesterday morning with Daniel. Daniel had already decided that he would not change and would continue to serve God. He had resolve! He also resisted without being rude. Remember, Daniel asked if they could not eat the king’s meat and even suggested that they compare after 10 days. God blessed Daniel and friends with being in better shape and have better understanding for what the king was needing.

Mission-We had an opportunity to go to the Second Harvest food distribution center and pack toiletries in a bag to hand out to other kids in need. After we finished packing, they gave us a tour of the facility. We had an awesome time helping to give back to those in need.

Evening-we had a topical breakout where we all got to choose what we we to listen to. Our choices were:

How to Keep the Fire Alive
What is God’s Will for MY Life
There is More
After the breakout session, we went into worship again. The in-service game was “Brand Slogans” and we won to take the belt back. CP Bobby preached on the “True Script.” He used 2 Corinthians 6:16-18, 7:1. You have to know what defines you and often we let the wrong things define us. What defines us is God and we are the address for Him. He is no longer in the temple. We must also ask the right question. In everything we do, Is It Holy? And lastly, we must decide to live it out. When you make the choice, God will help bring the change. God moved in a big way again last night. At times I just stood in the back in awe of watching our kids follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.

Lastly, we have been ending the night with a group devotion. I had spoke with the Youth Pastor of the other church about having a devotion with them included. Last night, our youth helped to hand out little journals that we had purchased for our youth. I had bought plenty, but we had just enough for each student from the other church so we gave them out. I spoke about putting on the whole armor of God in preparation for leaving camp and going back into the world. We had a good time together! God Bless!!

Kamp Kairos update: Sorry I’m late with day 3 update. Yesterday was a roller coaster. Our morning breakout focused on “Which is the greatest commandment?” Jesus answered that question with Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Love is not a command of doing, it is a state of being.

After the breakout session, we went to morning worship. Our in-service rec game was a feather throw where 3 people from each church would throw a feather each round and the shortest throw was eliminated. The winner would get to choose who got the belt for the day. Jaxson worked his way through the other church and a staff member to win. I’m proud of what he did next. The other church has just barely lost these games so he chose to let them hold the belt. How awesome is that?!

Morning worship continued with CP Bobby talking about the world “Renaming” and used Daniel as the example. Daniel means “God is my judge” so when he was captured and taken to Babylon, they tried to strip away their names and give them different names.

The rec game was volleyball and WBC 2 dominated the tournament which was good because it was HOT 🥵 playing outside.

Evening worship was amazing. We had a lip sync battle and we got to choose our song so we went with a Waterville favorite. It’s even Bro. Daryl’s favorite song. With “I Just Wanna Be a Sheep” we brought the belt back to us. After that, the camp director sat and talked about the front of the stage is always open as an altar and it was used throughout the night. It was an awesome sight to see the Holy Spirit moving so freely amongst all the youth and leaders and staff. CP Bobby preached on staying close to Jesus using John 15 about the branch connected to the vine.

Our late night devotion was just an extension of the service, but that was when we also got the news about Houston’s Nana passing. When we ended the devotion we all gathered around Him and Felicia and prayed for them and the family.

I was also told later that one of the villas where the girls were staying were marching around and singing “When the Saints Go Marching In.” God is doing something amazing with our youth and we will need your help to keep it going when we get back.

Kamp Kairos update: Day 2 was our first full day of camp. We started with a morning breakout session where we looked Jesus asking “Who do you say I am?” That was followed with our morning worship. We had an in-service dance off where Houston represented WBC. The next in-service game was Price is Right with Amazon deals. I was paired with one of the staff (Griffin Skates) and with the help of the church, mostly Lauren, we dominated that game only losing 1 point. We retained the Kamp Kairos Belt for a little while longer. We got to hear the testimony of Marcus “Buff” Bagwell and it was awesome to hear. After that we broke for lunch.

After lunch we met for a dodgeball tournament where we had 2 teams representing WBC. WBC 1 won against the other teams in the tourney, but couldn’t handle the staff as they were well rested and stacked with slingers. But, we did retain the belt.

After ice baths and ibuprofen we met back for our evening breakout session. Session 2 was “What must I do to inherit the kingdoms of Heaven?” We then went to our evening worship. The in-service game was charades. Lauren had to guess the Bible character while the church did charades. We had to go into a tie-breaker round where the two on stage had to do charades of a Bible scene and we had to guess. The other church was close, but we pulled out the win.

The band performed and Camp Pastor Bobby gave his message about Changing the script using Romans 12:1-2. Four points that he made were:
1. Examine your thoughts-what you think is how you live. If you follow any other map that God’s map, you’ll go in the wrong direction.
2. Expose the lies-not everything that comes your way is the will of God. Prove it out by asking God, studying His Word, and prayer.
3. Exchange the lie for truth-for every lie you believe, God has a truth that will set you free.
4. Equip your faith-quit living from one church event to another and get in His word daily. Repeat it daily until the new script replaces the old script.
