The summer ‘Grab & Go’ lunches for school-age kids that we have provided for several years, will undergo changes this summer. It will now be known as the “Kids Extra Summer List.” The outreach of the food shelf has grown excessively during the past year. Due to the increase in families requesting food assistance, we will be changing things, so we are able to assist more families with the hope of eliminating the need to turn people away. We will no longer have a limit on the number of families we can assist as we have had to do in the past. We have made changes that everyone must adhere to for this new way of doing things to work for the benefit of everyone. Here is how it will work:

** There is no longer a required sign up to receive kids’ food assistance.
** There will no longer be packed and distributed lunches every two weeks.
** Availability of the food items will begin June 1st and continue through July and ending August 1st.
** Food items will be scaled back with less available, but you will make the choice of food you wish to receive for your kids. (You do not need to order everything, only items you know your kids will eat.)
** The “Kids Extra Summer List” will be available on our page beginning June 1st. Ordering will not be allowed until that time. We are asking that only families with school-age children order from this list. No adults only households please.
** You are allowed to order twice monthly from this list. (We will be keeping track) It will not matter when you order each month. You can come back-to-back weeks if you desire, but you will be allowed to order only twice per month. You will be allowed a maximum of 10 per item each time you order (not ten per child.) You can mix/match but only 10 per item will be allowed. (Example: Applesauce cups & fruit cups. You can choose 10 applesauce only, 10 fruit cups only or you can choose 5 apple sauce & 5 fruit cups to meet the maximum of 10 allowed. This will allow us to assist more families if we keep quantities limited.)
** You will be responsible for scheduling the day & time you want to pick up your order. (Monday – Friday only.) Home delivery is available to those who live within the city limits of Trimont. If you need other food/hygiene items for your family, you can schedule those orders to be picked up the same day you come to pick up your “Kids Extra Summer List” items.

We hope these changes will be beneficial for everyone. The food items that will be available will be posted on June 1st. Please do not ask for the list prior to that date. It will be a pinned post on our page. Please refer to that list when you order. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us by phone, email or through Facebook.

We wish to say a huge thank you to the Trimont residents who participated in today's Scouting for Food event. There was a total of 323 lbs of food and hygiene items picked up at doorsteps across town today. Enough to fill up the back of a van! Thank you to the local Scouts and their leadership for organizing and picking up the food and giving back to the community!
