A beautiful and busy day at the Ark! Throughout the day, deliveries of donations were received. Our Food Ministry Family of volunteers were hard at work sorting clothing and other donations, making pickups at our grocery stores, and preparing bags of fresh produce and meat for this evening’s distribution. All, done in love, all possible through God’s love.

We welcome all to Worship – The Service of the Word – every Wednesday at 4:15.
Prayer requests are welcome and encouraged. Prayer Request sheets are available on the table as you enter the Ark. Private conversations with our pastors can also be arranged, please note your request and contact information on the prayer request sheet.

Our Food & Clothing distribution takes place immediately following the Worship Service from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M.

Giving thanks to the Lord for another week of incredible blessings. We see His hand in all.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

We live in troubling times; there is no doubt about that. We should not be fearful. God IS with you wherever you go. God will provide. If you are in need of food, there are multiple agencies that have food and clothing available to those in need. The Food Ministry offers the same, with one big difference. Food for the body and food for the soul. The opportunity to worship each Wednesday is here for all. Prayer requests are welcome and encouraged. Time to meet privately with a pastor can be arranged to address spiritual questions and concerns. Our volunteers invite you to stop by and see what they do to prepare for our weekly food and clothing distribution. There truly is something for everyone! We welcome you to join our Food Ministry Family of volunteers. Lasting friendships are formed.

Thank you to all who donated items this week! Special thanks to Debbie & Paul Willemann (Grace Lutheran Church) for their very special delivery of school supplies, personal products, and many other much-needed items this morning. A lovely baby stroller was included, and went to a family in need immediately after it was delivered. A tremendous blessing!

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32

It is unfortunate, in today’s world, that one needs to be reminded to be kind. Often, we become quite self-centered, concerned only with ourselves, annoyed with anyone or anything that prevents our day from going smoothly. If we look beyond ourselves, we will see others facing the same struggles, hardships, and frustrations. Think of a time someone showed you an unexpected kindness. Perhaps a stranger lent a hand, and was gone before you had a chance to thank them. Even the smallest act of kindness can leave a big impression. If we can remind ourselves of the greatest act of love, and forgive others, as God in Christ forgave us, there is not a soul on this earth who is not deserving of our kindness. Jesus died for all.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

Little ones are always welcome at the Ark. Children’s bulletins are available at worship, each with a lesson and coloring page. Holidays offer extra-special treats. This week we have been blessed with many items for infants and young children. From ride-on toys to baby bathtubs, and everything in between.
We often receive numerous, and most welcome, donations for children – favorite foods, bakery treats, shoes, clothing, books, and toys. Our brothers and sisters in Christ, along with our grocery associates, and members of the community always keep the children in mind. There is an ongoing need for diapers (especially sizes 4,5,& 6) and baby wipes. Baby food and formula are also in short supply. Any and all donations of these items will be a tremendous blessing to our little ones in need.

Thank you to Dr. Vanessa Gattis and the Prince William County Community Foundation for their most generous donation this week of canned goods and other much-needed nonperishables. We received cases of canned fruits and vegetables, pastas, peanut butter and jelly! These are critical to our grocery distribution, often requiring purchase out of pocket when donated supplies run low. We will continue to receive these wonderful gifts from PWCCF. A tremendous blessing from God’s hand to our table.
