💃 Confidence. Creativity. Coordination. Community.

This fall, we’re giving young people a place to move, create, and grow through our Dance Programs!

We have opportunities for different ages:

🌸 Kinder Dance | Ages 5–7
Wednesdays | 4:15–6 PM

✨ Junior Dance | Ages 8–11
Wednesdays | 5–7 PM

🔥 Senior Dance | Ages 12–15
Wednesdays | 5–7 PM

Our dance classes help young people develop coordination, rhythm, confidence, technique, and teamwork—all while having FUN!

Este otoño, nuestros programas de danza ofrecen a los niños y jóvenes un espacio para desarrollar su coordinación, ritmo, confianza, técnica y trabajo en equipo.

Our Guitar Program is designed for ages 7–16 and gives young people a fun, hands-on way to learn guitar while developing their musical skills.

No need to be perfect. No need to have experience. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn! 🎶

The Impact: Connecting Community to Opportunity

Over the past two posts, we’ve highlighted the volunteers and community partners who made our Community BBQ possible.

Today, we want to focus on why we gathered in the first place: our community.

The BBQ provided an opportunity for local families to:

🎒 Receive school supplies
🌭 Enjoy hotdogs and snacks
🤝 Connect with local organizations
📚 Learn about community resources and services
❤️ Build relationships with people who are committed to their well-being

While the event took place in one afternoon, the impact of these connections can extend far beyond the day itself.

For us, community engagement is about more than providing a service. It’s about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, supported, and connected to resources that can help them thrive.

We are grateful to every volunteer, partner, and community member who contributed to this day.

❤️ Community is stronger when we serve together.

Last week, our Advisory Board had the opportunity to gather in person for our monthly meeting—and we were especially excited to officially welcome two new members to the team: James Wang and David Haeussler!

We are grateful for their willingness to invest their time, experience, and passion into helping strengthen the mission of The Salvation Army Trenton Citadel Corps and the communities we serve.

Our Advisory Board plays an important role in connecting us with community leaders, building partnerships, sharing expertise, and helping us find new ways to serve our neighbors.

Are you interested in making a difference in your community? There are so many ways to serve! Whether through your professional expertise, community connections, advocacy, fundraising, or simply a willingness to help, we’d love to connect with you.

Our Advisory Board meets monthly, and we are always looking for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact.

The Power of Community Partnerships

In Part 1 of our Community BBQ series, we highlighted the volunteers who helped make the day possible. Today, we want to recognize the organizations that joined us and helped connect families to resources.

We are grateful for the participation of:

• Mercer County Board of Social Services
• Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund
• PNC Bank
• Robert Wood Johnson Health System
• Central Jersey Family Health Consortium
• United Way of Greater Mercer County

These partnerships allowed our event to become more than a community gathering. Families had the opportunity to receive school supplies, enjoy a meal, and connect directly with organizations offering resources and services.

This is the value of collaboration: no single organization can meet every need, but together we can create a stronger network of support for the people we serve.

Thank you to each partner for investing in our community and being willing to show up alongside us.

🎸🎹🥁💃 What will your child discover this fall?

Our Music & Creative Arts Program begins September 15–16 at The Salvation Army Trenton Citadel Corps!

This fall, children and teens ages 5–16 can explore:
🎸 Guitar
🎹 Beginner Piano
🥁 Drums
💃 Dance — Kinder, Junior & Senior

These aren’t just classes. They’re opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop discipline, discover their creativity, and have fun in a supportive community.

Nuestro Programa de Música y Artes Creativas comienza el 15 y 16 de septiembre.
