The First Baptist Church is located on the corner of Centre and Bridge Streets in the southern section of Trenton, New Jersey. Centre Street runs generally parallel to, and a few blocks in from, the Delaware River. There is ample parking adjoining the church building, courtesy of the Griffith Electric Supply Company. Via Pennsylvania Turnpike from the West:
Take Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Exit 28 (Philadelphia). Route 1 North. One mile onto Route 1, continue straight ahead. Do not exit onto I-95 (ignore the sign that tells you to take I-95 to Trenton). Do not take Route 32 to Morrisville. Stay on Route 1 until you cross the Delaware River toll bridge. (Tolls are payable in one direction only, when returning from Trenton to Pennsylvania.) Immediately after crossing the bridge, take the first exit for Route 29. After winding down the ramp, turn immediately to the left onto Ferry Street. Go two blocks, stop at the first stop sign and make a shallow right turn onto Bridge Street. Go up the hill on Bridge Street to the first traffic light and turn left onto Centre Street. You are now in front of The First Baptist Church. For parking, continue past the church buildings and turn right into the adjoining lot. Via I-95 from Philadelphia:
Heading north on I-95, exit onto U.S. Route 1 North toward Morrisville and/or Trenton. Stay on Route 1 North until you cross the Delaware River toll bridge. Then follow the above directions to the church. Via State Route 29 from the North:
Heading south along the Delaware River on State Route 29, pass the N.J. state capitol buildings on your left. From the left lane, exit onto Market Street and drive up the hill. At the third traffic light (at the top of the hill), turn right onto South Broad Street. Immediately before the first traffic light, make a shallow right turn onto Centre Street and proceed down the hill. You will see the large white buildings of The First Baptist Church at the end of the second block on the left side of Centre Street. For parking, turn left into the adjoining lot immediately before you reach the church. Via State Route 31 from the North:
Heading south on Route 31, exit onto I-95 South. Take I-95 South, toward the Delaware River and Pennsylvania. Before crossing into Pennsylvania, exit I-95 onto State Route 29 South, toward Trenton. Route 1 from the North:
Heading south on U.S. Route 1, stay on Route 1 all the way into Trenton. Do not be diverted by any signs saying "alternate" or "business". Stay on the Route 1 limited-access freeway. In Trenton, follow signs onto Route 129 South. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Hamilton Avenue. Drive one block on Hamilton Avenue until it ends at South Broad Street, an intersection with a traffic light. Turn left onto So. Broad Street and then make a quick shallow right turn onto Second Street. Griffith Electric Supply Company will be on your right (and on your left also). At the first stop sign, turn right onto Bridge Street. Drive one block (alongside the First Baptist Church burial ground) and turn right at the first traffic light onto Centre Street. You are now in front of The First Baptist Church. Route 206 from the North:
Heading south on U.S. Route 206, stay on Route 206 until you come to its circle intersection with U.S. Route 1 (known locally as "the Brunswick circle"). Drive to the opposite side of the circle intersection, following the signs onto Route 1 South. Via State Route 33 from Mercerville-Hamilton Square area:
Heading west on State Route 33, pass by the outskirts (car dealers, shopping centers, etc.) of Hamilton Square and enter the Mercerville retail business district (gas stations, fast foods, Carella's shoe store, etc.). Coming to a "Y" intersection with a traffic light, turn off to the left onto Hamilton Avenue. Stay on Hamilton Avenue until its very end, a distance of two or three miles. Hamilton Avenue ends at South Broad Street in Trenton, an intersection with a traffic light. Via I-195 from the East:
Heading west on I-195 toward Trenton, as I-195 comes to its end you will start to see signs for Routes 29 and 129 on the same roadway. Do not take I-295. Follow the signs for Route 129. When Routes 29 and 129 diverge, stay to the right and take Route 129 North into Trenton. Watch for signs for Cass Street. From the left lane of Route 129, turn left (west) onto Cass Street at a traffic light. Proceed on Cass Street. At the second traffic light, turn right (north) onto Centre Street. Drive three or four blocks to the next traffic light (Bridge Street) and you will see the large white buildings of The First Baptist Church on your right. Route 206 from South Jersey:
Head north on U.S. Route 206 toward Trenton. About 2.5 miles north of Bordentown, watch for signs for Routes 29 and I-295 North. From the right lane, exit from Route 206 following the ramp and the signs for Routes 29 and I-295 North. You will start to see signs for Routes 29 and 129. Route 130 and/or I-295 from South Jersey:
If travelling on U.S. Route 130, leave Route 130 south of Bordentown and get onto I-295 heading north. After about one or two miles, watch for signs for Routes 29 and 129 North toward Trenton. From the right lane of I-295, take Exit 60 to get onto Routes 29 and 129 North toward Trenton. Returning to Pennsylvania:
From the parking lot adjoining the church, turn left onto Centre Street. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Bridge Street and drive down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, turn right and drive under three bridges side-by-side. Immediately after the bridges, turn left at the traffic light. Keeping to the right, proceed across the Delaware River free bridge into Morrisville, Pennsylvania (thus avoiding any bridge tolls). After crossing the free bridge, continue on E. Bridge Street (which becomes Route 32 South). At the second traffic light, turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue. After passing the Pizza Hut restaurant, follow signs onto U.S. Route 1 South toward Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the West.
