We are kicking off our Growing in Grace gardening club with the spring clean-up of the St. Paul campus on June 6. This is a welcoming space to nurture both faith and fellowship through caring for God’s creation throughout the grounds of St. Paul. We hope you can join us to kick off the season on June 6 from 9:00am–noon, setting the stage for a summer of growth and connection. The club will meet at least once a month, with opportunities to serve, learn, and enjoy time together outdoors. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Gathering Space for those who’d like to participate on June 6. All are welcome—men, women, and families alike—so come dig in, grow in grace, and be part of something beautiful!

As we celebrate the Holy Trinity (one God, three persons) this weekend, we too often focus on the “who”: who the Father is, who the Son is, who the Holy Spirit is…and how are they one God? But as Peter continues his message during the feast of Pentecost, his focus is not so much on who the Trinity is, but on what this God does…and why. The Father sends His Son to die and rise for all sin. Ascended into heaven, both Jesus and the Father send the Holy Spirit to give new life to sinners through the resurrected Jesus. As Peter says, “we all are witnesses.” Indeed, we are! As disciples of Jesus, we bear witness to the world of the love, mercy and salvation Jesus gives. These are the three persons in one God at work! Come and celebrate new life in the triune God! To prepare for worship, read Acts 2:14a, 22-36.

Today we remember the heroes who gave everything for our freedom. On this Memorial Day, we honor their courage, sacrifice, and the families who carry their memory each day.

May we never take for granted the blessings we enjoy because of their service. We pray for peace, comfort for grieving hearts, and gratitude in our lives.

God bless those who served and those we remember today.

The Day of Pentecost has two areas to focus on: the particular and the universal. We see the disciples have tongues of flame appear on their heads, the speaking in languages they have never learned, the response of the crowd and Peter’s message. What does this have to do with us? With anyone? The events of Pentecost expand with these words: “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.” The Spirit of God has been poured out on us in baptism. The Spirit pours out the mighty acts of God in Jesus on us. And the Spirit is to be poured out on everyone, for every sinner needs salvation that only Jesus can give! Come and receive the Spirit poured out for you! To prepare for worship, read Acts 2:1-8, 12-18, 21.
