The members and friends of the New England Seventh-day Adventist Church traveled up Lookout Mountain for Sabbath School and Church on June 6, 2026. Both services emphasized the blessings of being outdoors while enjoying the beauties of nature. During Jesus's ministry in Bible times he often used illustrations from what His audience could see to describe spiritual truth as they sat on the hillside or beside the sea. The post of Pastor Wilbur Atwood's presentation includes the story of an unusual cold snap several years ago that left the ground covered with the frozen leaves that are so beautiful in early spring. He was expecting a dreary looking summer with few leaves on the trees. But there was a second spring. He explained how that took place because of reserve buds on the tree branches. The picture of the holly bush illustrates this interesting phenomena. The attached paragraphs in the comments explain how it works.

This seminar is continuing today at the Better Living Center in Wildwood, Ga. The New England Seventh-day Adventist Church members and visitors are invited to attend the programs in Wildwood. Services at the New England Seventh-day Adventist Church on Morgan Road, Trenton, Ga. will resume next Sabbath, May 9. A tour of the Wildwood Lifestyle Center will be this afternoon before the meetings continue at the Better Living Center. All are invited to attend.
