This is a wonderful way to support missionaries here at home.

Gayle is suffering from dementia and Bob is doing his very best to care for her at home. This is an opportunity for us to serve them by providing ...

Today, we celebrate the remarkable life of Annie Armstrong, a missions leader whose legacy continues to inspire us!

Annie Armstrong, born on July 11, 1850, in Baltimore, Maryland, dedicated her life to serving others in her own community and motivating SBC women and churches to support missions efforts across North America and the world.

Annie's advocacy and leadership as the first executive director of Woman's Mission Union helped fuel church plants in remote areas, supported missionaries in their work, and encouraged thousands to join the mission of spreading the gospel through praying, giving and participating.

Today, Annie Armstrong's legacy challenges us to step out of our comfort zones and pursue a life focused on mission.

Happy Birthday, Annie Armstrong! Your passion for missions and unwavering faith continue to inspire generations. May we all be motivated to live boldly for the kingdom, just as you did. Let's honor her memory by committing ourselves afresh to the mission of bringing the hope of Jesus to the world!

Here's a tip for this activity: When toasting chapati bread (flour tortillas), place the electric skillet inside a box to give preschoolers a safety barrier around the hot skillet. Leaders warm the chapati, and preschoolers enjoy tasting! Use this activity suggested in Mission Friends Leader, February Session 4.

🎉 Happy birthday to Lottie Moon, who was born on this day 183 years ago! 🎂 Why is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering named for her?

While living in China, Lottie wrote letters to the Foreign Mission Board (now the IMB) and to Baptist women. She asked for more missionaries and for money to grow her work among the Chinese.

Because of Lottie’s determination, WMU collected a Christmas Offering to give to the Foreign Mission Board. In 1918, at Annie Armstrong’s suggestion, WMU named the offering for Lottie Moon.

Today, we still give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in honor of her work and sacrifice to keep our missionaries on the field.

One hundred percent of the offering goes to the missionaries!
