Living Example of a humble man.
He was going into places where there was no church, raising up a church, training leaders, setting in pastors, and then moving on as God directed to plant churches. One of the most successful apostolic church planters of his time, this man was born in 1908 and passed away in 2006 at the age of 97. In the height of a successful ministry, the Lord asked him if he was willing to lay it all aside and go to Tulsa, Oklahoma for one man. He willingly obeyed God, not knowing how he would earn a living. He was faithful to mentor that one man, and I am a witness to the anointed, life changing music of that man, David Ingles.
This mighty man of God was one of my favorite teachers in Rhema Bible College in 1978-79. His name is Reverend Roy Sprague. He came to Tulsa for one man, was faithful to mentor one man, not knowing that God had a plan to place in him in a position to mentor thousands who would take the Gospel around the world. Now that is the example of a humble man.
God is just as passionate about one person discovering who they are and what they are called to accomplish as He is about those who know who they are and are actively fulfilling their calling.
Pride would say that we have to go where the crowds are so that we can build a name for ourselves, but humility says we are willing to go wherever we are sent and help the one, or the many. Never judge your success by what you are doing, but by whether of not you are doing what God has told you to do.
Are you willing even if it is only one person? Are you willing to trust God to supply your needs even when there is no income involved in your ministry to others? Good self check for us all.
