Calvary Baptist Church of Towson, MD Come Worship God With Us! Sunday School - 9:45 - 10:30 am
Sunday Service - 11:00 am In December, 1889, the Reverend A. C. An educational wing was added in 1960.

Dixon, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle, held a Baptist worship service in a small room located over a blacksmith's shop in Towson. By February, 1890, a Sunday School program was being conducted in that upper room. On August 15, 1890, twelve members of that Sunday School signed the charter founding Calvary Baptist Church. The membership of the new Church grew rapidly. A Church building was constru

cted, and in 1892 the congregation moved into a simple frame sanctuary constructed on the present property at 120 West Pennsylvania Avenue in Towson. In 1929, that small structure was replaced by a modern sanctuary. It is important to remember that a Church is not a building of wood or stone, but a group of people called to serve God in a given location and in the whole world. Through the years, Calvary Baptist Church has been blessed with many dedicated people who have given months, years, or lifetimes, furthering the Kingdom of God through the ministries of this congregation.

Happy September and happy Labor Day everyone! It’s a beautiful start to a hopefully beautiful week! We had a wonderful weekend doing outreach at the Towson Fall Festival (conveniently on the street in front of our church!) followed by our 2nd annual ice cream social in the courtyard on Sunday! As we enter this new week, here are the daily prayers you can pray for the week if you’d like. Praise be to God for bringing us to September, and prayers that this months will be met with blessings and answered prayers 🙏🏼🍂💛

We’re officially in the ‘ber months, one of my favorite times of year for outreach! A couple things to look forward to this weekend are the Towsontown fall festival, where you can find our booth set up in front of our church along Pennsylvania Avenue (right across from the courthouse!), followed by our 2nd annual ice cream social in the courtyard after the service on Sunday! These are both really fun events, some of my personal favorites to plan, and it’s a great opportunity to know more about Calvary Baptist Church of Towson, MD! Come spin the wheel for a prize, get some free water on a hot day, take information cards, then come back on Sunday for the service and enjoy an ice cream sundae buffet in our courtyard while enjoying fellowship with our friendly congregation! 🍂🍦❤️

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Christmas in August with us! We had a beautiful service with candlelight, poinsettias, garland, bell choir, pipe organ, and more! The celebration didn’t end there though. Afterwards we had a wonderful Christmas-themed reception in our fellowship hall! It was truly a happy and merry day for our church! If you thought this Christmas Sunday was nice, just WAIT to see what we have in store for the real deal in December 😉✨🎄✨🔔✨🍪✨🕯️

We are only TWO DAYS AWAY from our Christmas in August service! Our volunteers are hard at work decorating! It’s a little unconventional, but if you’re a Christmas lover like me you love an opportunity to get festive and celebrate Jesus before December! If you’re near Towson and want to step into Christmas before December, come on out to our special Christmas-themed service this Sunday at 11!
