Holy Name of Mary is a diverse and affirming independent Catholic parish based in the Endless Mountains of Towanda, PA, and served by priests of the Society of Mercy. We are a welcoming and inclusive parish in the Old Roman Catholic tradition and served by priests of the Society of Mercy. Our senior pastor is Father Daniel Storrs, MA, SSM, and our associate pastor is Father William Young, SSM. We

warmly invite all of Mary's baptized children of goodwill who genuinely seek the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, sacramentally or spiritually, to participate faithfully in our Chapel community; regardless of race, nationality, age, gender or gender expression, sexuality, marital status, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, or other blessed diversities. God could have entered our world in countless ways. But God chose a family. And I think that choice tells us something beautiful about God.

We were never meant to journey through life alone. In Jesus, we are welcomed into a family bigger than blood, biology, or anything that might divide us.

There is a place in God’s family for you. You belong. You are beloved. 🙏❤️

The muddy water in front of you is not the whole river. 🌊

Sometimes life looks a lot like this yucky water. What is right in front of us can feel bleak, messy, and foreboding. But if we lift our eyes toward the horizon, we are reminded that this moment is not the whole story. There is still beauty ahead, and we do not have to face any of it alone!

“I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1–2

If today feels heavy, lift your eyes. Know that God is with you. God even suffers with you in this moment. Help is nearer than you think. Clearer waters and brighter days are still ahead. Keep hope alive. Keep going. ❤️🙏

Three little lives. One beautiful day. A lifetime held in God’s grace. 🐚💧🕊️

Yesterday, Father Dan had the great joy of baptizing Robert Gregory, Maren Ann, and Jack Ray, officially welcoming them into the family of God as followers of Jesus and beloved children of the Blessed Virgin Mary. ✝️

May they always know how deeply Jesus loves them, how tenderly Mary watches over them, and that they will always have a home in the Church. 💒

What do we do with the suffering we cannot change? 🤔

We don't always understand why suffering comes into our lives. When we can alleviate the suffering of another person, we should. We are called to comfort, care for, and walk alongside those who are hurting.

But there are times when suffering simply cannot be taken away. In those moments, we can place it into the hands of God and remember that we are not alone. In the Crucified Christ, we see a God who does not remain distant from our pain, but enters into it and suffers with us.

And the Resurrection reminds us that suffering never gets the final word! Even in the most difficult moments, Christ is with us. By God's grace, there can still be hope, healing, and even new life in the midst of what we would never have chosen. ✝️🙏
