Well folks it looks like it is going to be Winter this weekend. The prediction is for ice, sleet, freezing rain and way cold temps. I want everyone to be very careful this weekend and stay warm. Like years past, we want you to stay tuned to the weather and if it gets as wet and icy as they are saying, we will not have Sunday service. You can still catch us on video. However, it might be delayed a while. I will try to go ahead and offer a worship time without the music and other parts of our service. If we are not able to do that, I apologize ahead of time and will try to do better next time.
If you want to be with us when we worship this Sunday, read the book of Jonah. We are going to look at old Jonah and his difficulties in obeying God. He truly is a unique character in the Bible.
I want to say a prayer for you all, especially Jayne who is recovering from quadruple by-pass surgery. "Dear Lord, we call upon you at this time for safety and protection from the weather this weekend. Whether we get together in Your house or not, we will join our hearts and minds in meaningful worship. Continue to bless Jayne as she gains her strength and be with Bro. Gary as he leads in worship at his living facility. Remind us all of the Great Commission, "As we go" make disciples and preach the gospel to everyone we meet. In the powerful name of Jesus our redeemer we offer our prayer." Amen

I saw the orthopedist yesterday and all is well with my foot. I do have a fracture on my ankle, but it should heal without any problem in about four weeks. I must wear a boot except when I am in bed or in the shower. I feel good and am getting around the house pretty well. I even took a walk around the yard this morning to check out if I could.
I will see all of you on Sunday morning with a special message from the Lord. I know it is from Him because the devil is trying so hard to prevent me from delivering it. I am truly excited about it and look forward to being used by the Lord in this way.
Don't forget that on Tuesday, January 20 we will welcome the Burnet/Llano Baptist Assoc. meeting at 11 a.m. At the conclusion of that meeting we will meet as a church with Cliff and Richard for a few minutes. If you can be here that day, you will be welcome.
Looking forward to Sunday! See you there.

Well folks we have yet another mishap to report. I took a fall yesterday afternoon and broke my leg. I cannot put weight on it until later dates. I stepped in a puddle of water on the floor, and my left leg went out from under me. When I realized what had happened it felt like my left foot was in my left hip pocket. I fell with all my weight and hyper-extended my knee and broke the small bone in my lower leg. I cannot put weight on my foot until I see an orthopedist on Thursday morning.
WE WILL NOT MEET ON WEDNESDAY EVENING OF THIS WEEK. If you are normally there on Wednesday night, please contact the others and tell them we will not meet. I am sorry that we will not be able to get started again until later.
I do intend to be there on Sunday, so I will see you all then! Remember to invite your friends and neighbors to come with you so our worship time will truly be glorious! In all of this GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!

Well, we have now finished another year. By the time we meet again it will be 2026. Can you truly belief you are still here at the beginning of the second quarter of the 21st Century? When I was a kid running around in the dust of West Texas, that was not even a thought in my little head. God has blessed me and my family over the years so much more than I could ever have imagined. I am so proud to have four Godly sons and their families. I have been super blessed with the wife God provided me from my earliest recollections. Queenie and I met when we were just children, and we played together with the neighborhood gang. We had the privilege of growing up together and serving God for over 40 years.
In 2014, after helping with the birth of Granite Mountain Baptist Church of Marble Falls, we retired, but God had other plans for us and took us to Eastlake Fellowship and to FBC Tow for interim terms. The second time FBC Tow asked us to come help in an interim, they decided we needed to stay as permanent. We have now served the great folks of Tow and surrounding area for over five years and loved it all. There were times we were not able to serve in the way we wanted, but God blessed anyway with some of the greatest Christians anywhere.
Now we are about to begin the year 2026 and God has begun to make some outstanding changes in our church. We have been blessed with the addition of a couple of new members following their baptisms and we are being visited regularly by several families in the area. We spent over four years praying that God would bring new folks to worship with us and in the past six months or so, He has absolutely answered our prayers. I want to thank a special member for all his work and prayers. I could not have done much of what I have been able to do without Bro. Gary Sutton. Gary has been so faithful in meeting and praying with me and encouraging me. We spent many Saturday mornings visiting the community in his mule.
Oh, I guess I am just getting too sentimental in my old age, but This has been such a wonderful year, and I am so excited about the next one. I know that God is going to answer even more prayers and we are going to see the community of Tow make a real turn toward serving the Lord of lords and King of kings. This is going to be a super banner year for First Baptist Church of Tow. Please join us in prayer to this effect and then watch as God goes to work. My prayer is "God give me strength and energy to serve you this coming year. May I be open to every challenge you set before us and may I be receptive to your leadership. I will give you all the glory and praise. In Jesus' wonderful Name." AMEN

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening at 6 pm for our annual Candle lighting service. I know it doesn't feel a lot like Christmas, but it is and we want to celebrate the REAL reason for the season! Come worship with us and stay to enjoy some refreshments. We pray you all have a truly blessed Christmas and that God blesses you in ways you did not imagine. We will be back on Sunday morning to finish the year with a message about the "Light of the World."

I just received a Christmas card from Rick Crabtree from Pisgah Baptist Church in Decatur, TN. I do not know tis person or have never been to their church. It was so refreshing to get a warm greeting from someone I did not know. I checked the church out and found that it was over 207 years old and one of the oldest in Tennessee. Maybe you would like to surprise someone in that way as well. May God bless Pisgah Baptist Church and Rick Crabtree and family. Merry Christmas to all you from Tow and we invite you to jin us this Sunday for Worship and praise.
You missed a great Community Dinner last night. We finished all the things from the garden for this year, but we will continue our meal on a quarterly basis in 2026. Stay tuned for dates and times. Please continue to invite your friends and family to come to church with you. They will never know what they are missing if they never come to see.

Hope to see all of your smiling faces at church in the morning. We are going to have a blessed day in the Lord!

This new picture is from our Shoebox packing on Wednesday evening. We packed about 181 boxes that night. They will be on display in our Sanctuary for a couple of weeks. We will then pack them in the larger boxes for shipping, and they will be present for a week or so before we send them off to Dallas for final processing.
It is so much fun to work on these great ministry items during the year and then to see them on display warms your heart. We had several members help us this year that had not been able to help us before. Thanks to all of the people who showed up to do this important work.
We want to invite the community of Tow to join us for our monthly community dinner on November 18. We will be dining on produce from our church garden. We are looking forward to eating even more items in the future, but God has supplied some great items. Come join us and fellowship with us.
We are looking forward to seeing you Sunday morning for worship at 11 am. We are going to look at Revelation 17:14, "The Overcoming Lamb."
