Holy Saturday, or Silent Saturday, represents the day Jesus laid in the tomb! Where resting in God, grief and anticipation was the focus for many.
“Now the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was laid. And then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.”
Luke 23:55-56 NASB
“In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be put to shame; In Your righteousness rescue me. Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly; Be a rock of strength for me, A stronghold to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me. You will pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my strength. My times are in Your hand; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your faithfulness.”
Psalm 31:1-4, 15-16 NASB
Holy Saturday offers room for reflection on trusting in God’s timing, patience and finding hope even in the darkest circumstances!
