How do we seek God’s will and make wise decisions?

Taylor lead us through several passages in the book of Proverbs to show us that as we spend time with God and get to know him, offer ourselves to him, and seek him for guidance, we will be able to better and more easily make choices that honor him. We become ready to receive him and hear from him.

We learned about Elijah and the highs and lows he experienced in his faith. God revealed himself in the fire, but also in the whisper.

No matter where you are, in a high or a low, we have a God who listens, who knows what we need in each specific moment of life, and who shows our need for His tender loving care.

As we’ve gone through the book of Genesis, we have seen how God wants to form Abraham from the inside out even if it means sacrificing something unimaginable. And He wants to do the same for us. God is in the details and He will provide.

Luke taught us from Genesis 18 that Jesus is interested in our formation; becoming the men and women He created us to be. Nothing is too hard for Him. He wants to be in relationship with us and He can accomplish whatever it is He wants to accomplish.

We continued Abraham’s story in Genesis 16 and discovered one of the most beautiful names of God in all of Scripture—El Roi, “the God who sees.” Through Hagar’s story we saw her leave the desert knowing God because he first knew her. He knows us where we are and loves us no matter what.

In Genesis 15, Luke taught us that God initiates with those who love and follow him and he encouraged us to be a people who believe and have big faith and respond to him. He will accomplish what he says he will accomplish. Let’s be a people who say yes when God initiates.
