“This idea of standing firm in the true grace of God and what that means – the whole concept behinds this weekend hopefully – will be an encouragement to you as we worship together. It’s this idea that grace really is the fuel for obedience and holiness. Without understanding first grace, we aren’t going to want to obey, and it just becomes a legalistic pursuit. But if we DO understand grace, there is a responsibility that we have – and we don’t ‘prove our love to God’ – but we are encouraged so much by the grace that we want to live for his glory. This Sunday at Branch, we will be looking at something at the very heart of the Christian life in 1 Peter 4. The apostle is asking us to arm ourselves, and if you have an enemy that you need to defend against, it’s essential to understand the nature of that enemy.

How does that enemy get in? What’s the risk of losing ground to that enemy? It’s important to know what you need for an effective defense against this enemy: what you have and what you can do as a Christian to be victorious.

We can all benefit from what God has to say to minister to both our hearts and our minds. Hope to see you there!
