Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church

Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church We are people on a journey of Christ-like holiness. An old school building located in the vicinity of the present church was donated and renovated.

HISTORY:
On May 2, 1886, following a revival at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, some of the converts organized the first Methodist Church of Tornado. In 1968, the church merged with the Evangelical United Brethren Church and was named Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church of Tornado. OUR LIFE TOGETHER:

After School Care Program 2:00 pm-6:00 pm following the county school schedule

Services for Mary Jo (Wood) Young will be Friday July 31, 2026 at 11am at Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church in Tornado. Visitation will be from 10am - 11am. Burial will be at the Donald C. Kinnard cemetery in Dunbar, WV.
