Day 5
Where we saw Jesus today…
Not in one big moment—but in a hundred small ones.
A woman who had already blessed us yesterday with arroz con leche showed up again—this time with tamales, watermelon, and fresh mangoes. There is an abundance of hospitality here.
At Los Mahanos, we saw where the church is currently meeting while they wait for their building… a rusty shed. Smaller than most garages back home. And yet—full of purpose, love and hope.
Alfredo welcomed us onto his property with so much joy. He was genuinely happy to have us there, to show us his home, to share what he had. Chickens walking inside, hammocks hanging where he sleeps—and he shared a bowl of fresh, tree ripened mangos from his own trees!
We saw Jesus in healing too.
Malia wasn’t feeling well—and after prayer, she began to feel better. Several others are recovering quicker than expected. We’re thankful—but still praying.
We’ve seen Him through the kitchen team—serving with kindness, hard work, and incredible food. So many new things, and every meal feels like impressive generosity.
We’ve seen Him in our teens—stepping up, pouring into the local kids, leading with smiles and presence even after a tiring week.
And the kids here… there’s something special. Kind. Engaged. Joyful.
Even the dogs roaming around and hanging out with us bring us joy.
And through it all, one thing rises to the surface:
Jesus shows up in simple ways that change everything.
Sabbath has begun tonight.
We pause.
We rest.
We remember.
We’re grateful for a God who meets us here—and makes our lives different.
Would you pray with us?
Pray for those who are still not feeling well.
Pray for tomorrow—for the preaching, for ministering to the members, and for leading VBS with the children.
And pray that we would be people who don’t just see His goodness… but invite others to come and experience it too.
Happy Sabbath from El Salvador 🇸🇻
