Kansas District LCMS

Kansas District LCMS The Kansas District of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod (LCMS) supports LCMS congregations and schools.

The mission of the Kansas District LCMS is to support and encourage members of the District in carrying out the mission Christ has given His Church. The Kansas District LCMS social media platforms are a wonderful gathering point for LCMS Lutherans in Kansas and beyond! The District social media outlets are meant to inspire our congregations, schools, and RSOs through the sharing of stories, photos

, and information about events and resources to members of the Kansas District. We welcome our social media followers, friends, and supporters to engage in Christ-filled discussion and comments. When communicating on our social media platforms, we ask that all participants hold to the teaching in Ephesians 4:29: "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." The following guidelines are to help ministry work in the Kansas District thrive and grow. We encourage Kansas District congregations, schools, and RSOs to prayerfully consider creating social media guidelines for their own ministries, if they have not already done so. Visit www.kslcms.org/communications on the District website to access the social media guidelines document, and the Kansas District Social Media Policy.

- Always use Biblical wisdom and prayerful consideration when using social media. For example, if someone has offended you, speak with them privately on the matter rather than responding publicly (Matthew 18).

- When in doubt, keep comments positive. If someone has posted something unkind, rude, or distasteful, speak well of others and explain everything in the kindest way.

- Please be aware that the moderators of Kansas District social media platforms reserve the right to hide or remove comments that are deemed inappropriate, offensive, or threatening. Profanity, insults, and harassment will not be tolerated.

- When communicating on Kansas District social media platforms, we request that participants refrain from direct and indirect solicitations, comments that conflict with LCMS theology, links to personal pages, campaigns, etc., political statements/endorsements, and material that includes personal contact information.

- In the event of a crisis, please contact District leadership prior to responding to any posting or comments relating to the crisis.

The initial round of voting in the election for president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod was not conclusive, and a runoff will be required.

Matthew Harrison - 2050 (43.8%)
Joel Biermann - 1822 (39.0%)
Benjamin Ball - 371 (7.9%)
Brady Finnern - 321 (6.9%)
Peter Lange - 112 (2.4%)

With approximately 85% of those registered voting, that means approximately 800 of those registered synodwide didn't cast a ballot. Your congregation's vote matters! We hope that all Kansas District congregations will cast their pastoral and lay votes in the second round of elections. The second round of voting for LCMS president will take place June 13–16, with successive rounds, if necessary, occurring in the same pattern. Registered voters will use the same credentials they used to vote in the first round, which will again be provided by email when the next round of voting has opened.

The initial round of voting in the election for president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) was not conclusive, and a runoff will be required.

This week, you are invited to pray for the Synod presidential election, especially for the electors, who are preparing for the first round of voting.

In place of a collect, consider praying and meditating on the following verses:

Walk about Zion, go around her,
number her towers,
consider well her ramparts,
go through her citadels,
that you may tell the next generation
that this is God,
our God forever and ever.
He will guide us forever. (Psalm 48:12–14)
