Although this event has already passed, what a great idea. FBC McLouth had an After Party following the Winter Formal providing a great place to fellowship over pancakes, hot cocoa, etc. What an awesome idea!!! Thank you to the pastor (Rev Scott Berry) and the congregation of FBC McLouth for an ingenious idea. Passing this along for other churches to consider. :) Blessings to all.

Loving Grandparents Awards...from the ABCCR CRL. What a blessing it is to have these individuals in our congregations that mentor the youngest of generations. The NEA is blessed to have three of the four awards this year from churches within the NEA - Horton First Baptist Church, First Baptist Church - Topeka , and West Side Baptist Church Topeka. Congratulations to these three churches and their nominations for Loving Grandparents Award.

Remember our NEA Mission Project - Brick x Brick at the 15th gate. Every $3.50 helps provide supplies to make one mor handmade "brick" (like one of our concrete blocks) to build the walls of the church in Montserrado, Liberia Africa. Anyone can send their contributions to NEA Treasurer, 5315 SW Reeder St, Topeka KS 66604. We just received a $250 donation from an individual outside our NEA. What a blessing! What can you do to help build this new church building? Your prayers and donations are appreciated.

The NEA is seeing activity within our churches…and as you might expect, some is positive, and some is negative. Please be in prayer for each of our churches. I’m sure there are issues which not all of us are aware of. FBC Council Grove lost a 16-year-old member of their church at the end of August. West Side Baptist Church Topeka’s pastor was called away from the church last week for a personal family matter. West Side also had the privilege to provide the Ordination Service for the newly ordained Rev. Traci Ulbright Brown at the end of August. FBC Topeka called a new pastor Benjamin Hardee and his family this past July and Ben has recently experienced a death in his family. FBC Herington saw Rev. James Callaway hand the reigns to Pastor Kurt Smith the end of August and their parsonage is ready for Kurt and his family to move from Olathe to Herington this coming weekend. New Life Baptist Church Topeka is hosting a Prayer Conference on Saturday morning, October 18, from 8am – 1pm. Please be in prayer for this event (and plan to attend if you are able). Check out their page for information. I’m sure there are many more things happening across our area. Please keep all our churches, their pastors, their lay leaders, and all those who attend our churches as well as the communities surrounding our churches. All prayers are appreciated. Thank you.

ANNUAL MEETING - Looking forward to seeing many of you next Sunday, SEPTEMBER 21, 2025 at 4pm at FBC, Atchison, for our NEA Annual Meeting. We will have an update on our Mission Project for helping with a new church plant (building) Brick x Brick at the 15th Gate in Liberia. We will also hear from our speaker, Rev. Chris Prater, pastor of FBC Hays and Church Transition consultant. We will also have a wonderful meal provided by FBC Atchison followed by our annual business meeting where we will present Larry Rose of FBC Council Grove as Moderator Elect for election, our financial report for this fiscal year and our budget for the next fiscal year. Please consider bringing members of your church, mission project funds, and your yearly dues (if you have not already paid those). The meeting will conclude close to 7pm. Excited to see you all there...and remember our Region's Annual Gathering is the following weekend in Salina.
