One God. Three persons. Impossible to understand. Impossible to explain. Instead of trying to explain how this can be, our Triune God simply states that that is who he is. The one true God reveals something even more incredible!
God the Father loves us so much that he sent his one and only Son to rescue us from our sins of rebellion against him. God the Son loves us so much that he obeyed his Heavenly Father and lovingly and willingly laid down his life to suffer the just wrath for our sins. Through God’s Word and baptism God the Holy Spirit lovingly creates faith in the hearts of people to trust in God the Son who gave his life to make us children of God the Father.
What a blessing that our majestic and mysterious Triune God makes clear how much he loves us.

𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫

Lord of grace and glory, Americans remember their fallen on the holiday we call Memorial Day. Help us to remember the cause of war, the horrors of war, and, at some times, the need for war. Help us explain to a new generation the reality of evil, the need for sacrifice, but above all, the need for you. Without you, any victory is fleeting, and any healing is short-lived. Without you, America is at the mercy of its enemies—and its enemies do not possess mercy. Therefore, shower us with your mercy from on high that we may never forget those who died for our freedom, and the One who died to make us free forever. Amen.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we thank God for blessing our country with men and women willing to serve and protect.

“I believe that I cannot by my own thinking or choosing believe in Jesus Christ my Lord or come to him. But the Holy Spirit has called me by the gospel, enlightened me with his gifts, sanctified, and kept me in the true faith” (Luther’s Biblical explanation to the Third Article).
What a blessing it is to have the Lord pour out the Holy Spirit on us through his Word and sacraments. Through these means he satisfies our thirsty souls with the righteousness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and causes streams of living water to flow within us to refresh us with his saving grace. The Holy Spirit also equips us with different gifts so that we grow and work together to refresh each other and others with God’s saving grace in Christ Jesus!
