Sometimes it feels like the world is unraveling. Division is louder. Anxiety feels constant. Many people wonder if things have gone too far to ever be made right again.

But the story of Jesus says something different.

From the very beginning, the message of Christ has been about renewal and reconciliation. His first coming showed us God stepping into a broken world with love. His promised return reminds us that restoration is still ahead.

This Father’s Day, we’re reflecting on a simple image:

🚪 An open door.

A door that is open to enter.
A door that is open to return.
A door that reminds us hope is still possible.

No matter where life has taken you, the invitation of Jesus remains the same:

Come.

SENT Inc. works to strengthen neighborhoods by walking alongside individuals and families through housing support, case management, food access, workforce development, and holistic care. Their work is deeply rooted in dignity, relationship, and meeting real needs in practical ways.

This partnership matters to Fellowship Hi-Crest because we share a heart for people and places. SENT’s commitment to long-term transformation aligns with our belief that faith is lived out through presence, service, and care for our neighbors.

🔸 Give Back Program 🔸
SENT Inc. is also part of our New Guest Give Back Program. When new guests visit Fellowship Hi-Crest, they can choose to direct a five-dollar gift to SENT Inc., and Fellowship Hi-Crest covers that donation. It’s one way we support meaningful work already happening in our community.

There are many ways to get involved through volunteering, supporting programs like the Southside Filling Station, and partnering in the ongoing work of neighborhood renewal.

• Students (K–12): $2
• Kids 3 and under: Free
• Chaperones: Free (we need 12)

There is something powerful about a night when a whole community comes together.

The Summer Sky Extravaganza is more than an event. It is a space where neighbors become friends, families slow down, and joy is shared across generations.

This year, we’re taking it even further.

For the first time in Topeka, the night will end with a professional drone light show. A completely new way to experience a summer night together, without the loud bursts of traditional fireworks.

The Hi-Crest NIA exists to bring neighbors together, share resources, and work alongside city leaders to strengthen and care for our neighborhood. These meetings are a space to listen, learn, ask questions, and have a voice in what’s happening right here in Hi-Crest.

This Sunday, we’re honored to welcome a powerful voice and story.

🎤 Spencer Lindsay

Spencer is the Founder and Executive Director of Working Men of Christ and President of Crossroads Restoration Inc. His journey is one of transformation, perseverance, and the renewing power of God.

After encountering Jesus while in prison, Spencer came to understand that true change required more than belief. It required a renewed mind.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
— Romans 12:2

What began as obedience in a prison cell has grown into a ministry impacting thousands. Today, Working Men of Christ serves over 2,000 inmates across multiple states, provides discipleship housing, and walks alongside men and women as they rebuild their lives with purpose and faith.

His story is not just about where he has been. It is about what God continues to do.

Join us this Sunday as Spencer shares about transformation, freedom, and what it means to truly live changed.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is not just part of history. It is part of the freedom we live in today.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a moment to reflect, to give thanks, and to remember.
