Help Create an Environment Where People Encounter God. What if the way a room feels could help someone hear the Gospel?

Our Ethos Team is a group of volunteers who help shape the look, feel, and atmosphere of our Worship environments at Fellowship Hi-Crest.

From the way the stage is set to the details throughout the gym, we believe every corner of our space is an opportunity to glorify God and help people experience His presence.

And you don't have to be a professional designer to be part of it.

Use the Gifts You Already Have
If you enjoy:

🎨 Decorating, painting, or crafts
πŸ›‹οΈ Rearranging and organizing spaces
✨ Creating environments that feel welcoming
🧰 Tackling practical projects
πŸ’ͺ Being the extra set of hands that helps move a couch or two

There's a place for you on the Ethos Team.

You can use your creativity, attention to detail, practical skills, or simply your willingness to help create spaces where people feel welcomed and are invited to encounter Jesus.

Want to Be Part of the Ethos?
If you'd like to use your gifts to help shape the Worship environments at Fellowship Hi-Crest, we'd love to have you join us.

Happy Labor Day from our Fellowship Hi-Crest family to yours. πŸ’›

Our church office is closed today β€” we'll see you tomorrow!

Today we pause to honor the people who show up β€” day after day, in ways seen and unseen β€” and do the work that keeps our communities, our families, and our world moving forward.

Whether you're a teacher, a nurse, a truck driver, a janitor, a parent, or anything in between β€” your work has dignity. Your labor matters. And today, we celebrate you.

Rest well today. You've earned it. πŸ’›

On Sunday, September 13, Fellowship Hi-Crest is doing what we love: getting out of the building and into the community for our annual Serve Day, then bringing the neighborhood back together for a National Night Out celebration.

Starting at 9:00 AM, we gather for worship, and then our teams head out:

πŸ‘• Free laundry at Highland Crest Laundromat, 455 SE 29th St β€” no cost, no strings, just clean clothes and good conversation
πŸ—‘οΈ Litter pickup in Fremont Hill and the Hi-Crest neighborhood β€” because our streets deserve care
πŸš› Tire removal β€” clearing discarded tires to make our community safer (especially need volunteers with trucks or trailers!)
🚨 Smoke alarm installation β€” partnering with the American Red Cross to go door-to-door and help keep families safe at home

At 11:45 AM, we return to the church to celebrate National Night Out with our neighbors β€” a free hot dog lunch, bingo, and the kind of afternoon that reminds you why community matters. 🌭

Everyone is welcome at the table. Come serve. Come eat. Come be our neighbor. πŸ’›

πŸ‘• At Fellowship Hi-Crest, there is no dress code. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. You will see a wide range of styles, and everyone is welcome.

You will not be singled out, pressured, or put on the spot. Our goal is simply to create a space where you can worship, listen, and engage at your own pace.

We believe church should feel welcoming, honest, and grounded in grace.

We would love for you to join us this Sunday.

Our friends at SENT Inc. and Eisenhower Middle School have launched a new season of Campus Connections, and we want to make sure every family in SE Topeka knows about it.

Campus Connections is a free after-school program for students in grades 6–12, meeting Monday through Thursday from 2:45–4:45 PM at Eisenhower Middle School. Students are placed in small groups with consistent mentors and rotate through programming that includes theater, coding, financial literacy, music, creative arts, and academic support.

What sets it apart is the long game. Students stay in the same cohort for up to four years β€” with the same adults walking with them the whole way. That kind of consistency changes things.

Fall 2026 kicks off mid-September. Spots are limited to 24 students.

If this is for your family, or someone you know β€” sign up now. πŸ‘‡

In the world of social media, if we are not careful, we can get caught up in how things look and lose sight of how they really are. But looks can be deceiving. Some things that look alive can really be dead, and some things that look dead can still be alive.

Join us Sunday, September 6th, 2026, as we continue our study of the book of Revelation with our sermon series, Revelation: The Last Call. You Can’t Stay Here.

Will you be visiting for the first time? πŸ”— Plan Your Visit: fellowshiphicrest.com/planyourvisit

There's a place at Fellowship Hi-Crest where kids are known by name, loved on purpose, and taught that their lives matter. πŸ’›

It's called Ripple β€” and it's one of the most important things we do.

Ripple is our children's ministry for kids ages one through 5th grade, built around a simple but powerful idea: a ripple starts at the center and expands outward. We want every child to leave knowing God's love at their core β€” and to carry that outward into their friendships, their families, and their world.

Our foundation comes straight from Scripture:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind... Love your neighbor as yourself" β€” Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT)

That's what we're building toward, one Sunday at a time.

Here's what to expect when you bring your kids:

Classrooms are designed for where your child actually is β€” not just their age, but their stage.

🍼 Toddlers & Twos β€” Simple, beautiful truths through play and music: God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
🌱 Preschool (3–5 years) β€” Hands-on Bible stories, early friendships, and a whole lot of love
πŸ“– Elementary (K–2nd Grade) β€” Wisdom, faith, and friendship through Bible stories, small groups, and interactive activities
🎀 Club 345 (3rd–5th Grade) β€” Real conversations, deeper discipleship, and leadership development for preteens β€” meeting on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month

Ready to check in?

πŸ“ Look for the Ripple Check-In Station in the main hallway
⏰ Check-in opens at 10:50 AM for our 11:00 AM service β€” last check-in at 11:15 AM
πŸ”’ Your child receives a name tag with a secure code β€” you get a matching tag required for pickup
βœ… All volunteers are background-checked and trained in safety protocols

We use the Orange Curriculum β€” a research-based, biblically grounded approach that's designed to work hand-in-hand with what you're already doing at home. Because we know you're the most important influence in your child's life, and we want to come alongside you β€” not replace you.

Ripple is led by Ms. Debb β€” Deborah Dawkins β€” who has poured over 30 years into children's ministry and brings a mother's heart to everything she does. She'd love to meet your family.

"My greatest desire is to help children have a childhood from which they do not need to recover." β€” Ms. Debb πŸ’›

New family or longtime member β€” your kids are welcome here. There's a seat, a name tag, and a whole team of people ready to love them well this Sunday.

πŸ’§Small choices add upβ€”especially with nutrition.
Even modest improvements in hydration and whole-food intake can improve energy and focus. This month, SENT and Fellowship Hi-Crest teams are revisiting nutrition as part of our health challenge.
We invite you to join us by choosing one small habit that supports your well-being.

3 ways to join us this month:
πŸ—“οΈ Plan simple meals or snacks ahead of time
βš–οΈ Focus on balance, not restriction
πŸ‘‚ Tune in to hunger and fullness cues
