He was found this morning, but it looks like he left us on 4.20.

So you planned your exit, great one...but you left us too soon. I find myself weeping for you, like I wept when Lucy died. Maybe it is because you were such a huge part of my first becoming...you were there singing to me for all those crazy, wonderful, first tastes of choice and consequence...it is your voice that echoes in the halls of my adolescence; yours and so many other guides and teachers to whom I owe so much of the curve of my soul and the slope of my sight...So even though I never knew you in this life, your soul is joined to mine forever. Thank you for coming and giving so much to so many of us...we'll see you on the other side.

When I was in college, I was engaged in a philosophical debate with a Cultural Anthropology Professor who said to me, "Sure, you're going to see signs and totems and divinely inspired messages intended just for you, if you're looking for them." To which I replied, "Exactly, Dr...what are you looking for?"

Holy Formless Flame, I take you into me; there I will make a place in me for you to grow. There I will feed you my brokenness so that you may consume it. There I will speak to you my true name so that you can burn away all that is not me. Spark of Creation, I call you into me...not to smolder in the dark, but to rage in me, to destroy the false me, utterly! There is an African proverb that says, "Once the enemies within are defeated, the enemies without have no power over you." For all that is truly terrifying in this world lies in the darkest recesses of our human hearts and minds. This is the challenge, Beloveds, to gaze unflinching into the abyss of our souls, at the raw and the repugnant and the unspeakably beautiful all at once, to claim without excuse or camafloge, the poetry of our compassion and the horror of our ruthlessness, to completely and finally embrace the tremendous, untapped power that rings true through the harmony and the discord alike, and to offer it all up to our creator as the song of our souls!

This total lunar eclipse will be visible just before sunrise on the morning of the Hallows or Hunters Moon, October 8th, and will be spectacular! We will still be feeling the effects as we revel in her silvery light at the evening Esbat; we hope that you will join us on the beach to celebrate her majesty!
