What a beautiful fall weekend we've been given this week! Thank you so much for choosing to worship with us.

Our message this morning comes from Mark 4:35-41 which reads:

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

-Whatever storm you may going through, Jesus can calm it. Cry out to God, call on the name of Jesus and watch how quickly you feel peace!

Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
-Jesus said to just stick with Him and we’ll ger right. We keep moving forward, He will plow for us when we’re tired, we just have to keep moving forward.
-Are we allowing Jesus to be our rest? There’s peace in Jesus that we can’t get anywhere else.

John 21:1-14
Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. It happened this way: Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.
He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.
Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

-The disciples were gathered together, probably in mourning, because Jesus died. They saw the crucifixion and resurrection. Peter was a solutions person and said he had to go back to work, grief remains but you have to move on. Peter had been a fisherman, he went back to doing what he needed to and what would keep his mind occupied.

-Seeing they hadn't caught any fish, Jesus basically told them, 'hey, you're not done, throw your net on the other side and try again." Now, you know (before they realized it was Jesus), they had to think he was crazy and were probably a little irritated. Peter was a professional fisherman, knew what he was doing, and had worked all night, and some 'random' man was telling them to try the other side of the boat. But he did it anyway.

-If you're in a season of waiting; if you're working but seeing no fruit and have prayed about it, God has it. He hasn't left you. Continue to listen to him, cast your net on the other side, and keep working. He sees you, He knows His plan for you.

This morning, our message comes from 2 Corinthians 4:16-18:

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
-Where is your focus?
-We stay focused on the right now and how do I fix this? Second thought is asking God to help…
-We are crushed but not hard pressed, just like Paul said in his letters, because God is with us.
-Our focus has GOT to be eternal. If we focus on the here and now, the world will pull us into depression and despair.
-God has not changed since Adam and Eve were created in His image. He will always be the same, we have to make sure He is our focus.

The message this morning was from Acts 2:1-13
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”

-God sends the Holy Spirit to empower His followers and begins spreading the gospel through every language.

-We have to get back to ALL churches preaching God's word without watering it down.

-People mock or reject what they do not understand.

Our message this morning comes from Luke 12: 32-34.
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
-We are not supposed to live in a state of anxiousness. Trust in the Lord.
-Stress is the silent killer. You can stress to the point that your body will shut down.
-God ALWAYS provides if you trust in Him to do so.
