What did your kids learn at West haven today?
Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well reveals the omniscience of Christ and His kindness toward sinners. He asked this Samaritan woman for water, despite how culturally abnormal it was. Jesus knew she had a greater need than just water. She needed forgiveness of sin.
Jesus knew the sins of the woman and, by declaring Himself the Messiah, invited her to embrace Him as Savior. The glory of Jesus impacted the woman and led her to proclaim His power to the townspeople that day and invite others to consider if He was indeed the promised Messiah. Just as Jesus pointed out the woman’s sin, so, too, does the Holy Spirit reveal our sin to us today. And just as the woman proclaimed the Messiah to the people around her, so should we!
🙏 Pray that the Lord will reveal His power to your children. Thank Him for the kindness and mercy He shows while we are still sinners and for His willingness to bring us into His family by faith.

⁉️ QUESTIONS & ANSWERS WITH YOUR KIDS
❓Did Jesus ever sin? No, Jesus never sinned.
❓What does this story tell us about Jesus? No matter how different people are from each other, every person has the same problem: SIN (Romans 3:23). Through this story we see Jesus do what others didn’t expect. He sought out a conversation with a woman that a Jewish man would not have spoken to. We see that Jesus cares and has compassion for all people and desires that everyone would come to know Him as their Savior!
❓Why is it important to realize the seriousness of sin? We see that Jesus Himself pointed out the woman’s sin so she could see her need for a Savior and trust Him as the Messiah. When we realize our sin separates us from God, we begin to see the importance of turning away from sin and turning to Jesus to be saved.
❓Who in your life might need to hear about who Jesus is, and what He has done for us? Talk with your kids about all of the places they frequent - visiting family, playgrounds, ball fields, school, etc. Give your kids some statements to say about sharing their faith. Practice it yourself! Many feel a little uncomfortable doing it, but practice makes it so much easier to let the words flow on the spot. Join your kids in writing down some names that they can pray to be bold in sharing their faith with.
