At least once a month, we have been trying to have a lesson that just examines an event in the life of Jesus.

Lord willing, we will talk about Jesus healing a demonic boy this Sunday. Here is a preview of something that we will say. When Jesus rebuked the boy’s father for a non-committal attitude, the man replied: “I do believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24).

The man’s response calls our attention to a commonly accepted fact about God. God helps people find Him…if they seek Him. Declaring human agency does not diminish man’s need for divine aid. However, declaring divine aid should not negate clear language in the Scriptures that man is capable of trusting God, despite his fallible condition. If you’re looking for a way to get back into studying the Bible, a story from the life of Jesus would be a great place to start. Come and be with us.
