A good time was had by all!

Another great night at EpiscoPints!
Huge thanks to the Rev. Bonnie Morris for such a thoughtful and engaging conversation. We covered a little bit of everything—what a diocese is (and where it comes from), the preference for the Baptismal Covenant vs. the creeds (and why they were written), idolatry, what a deacon actually does, and even unpacked the meaning behind incense in worship.

Thanks to everyone who came with questions, curiosity, and good conversation. See you next time!

ICYMI: lifelong Adventer Bonnie Zimmerman sadly passed away last week from cancer. Bonnie was best known for her service in the choir and her beautiful voice often filled the church, may she rest in peace. Her funeral service will be this Friday (2/20) at 10AM at Advent, all are welcome.

Don’t forget! Tuesday is our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, dedicated in memory of the late great Randy Rumley. Stop on by and indulge a bit before the Lenten season is upon us!

I hope that you are all staying warm and safe. This weather is both a physical and spiritual challenge. It is all too easy to let our mood be led by greyness, clouds, and lots of shoveling. Feeling a bit low, I searched for a prayer that would lead us to God's warmth and love during this season. I found this prayer on the Jesuit Resource page on the website of Xavier University.

In the Midst of Winter
Lord:
In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce remind us of the warmth of your love.
In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
In the midst of Winter, when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when leaves are off the trees, and the world can seem bleak
remind us that Easter is but a short time away.
And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of winter, reach out to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul.
