An introduction to the Bible, its history, and what it means today

Who wrote the Bible?
Why do we argue over this ancient book?
What does it say to me?

Dig into the messy, beautiful, and complex collection of writings at the center of Christian practice. Led by leading scholars from diverse faith perspectives, learn about the Bible’s origins and what it means to read it skillfully, honestly, and with joy. We’ll think together about how Scripture can inform and enrich our everyday lives.
In-person sessions include dinner. Online discussion begins at 6pm ET.

Join the Rivertowns Episcopal Parish Action on Inclusion and Race (REPAIR) and the Anti-Racism Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of New York for a Lenten Study of the Sin of White Christian Nationalism.
The purpose of the study is to equip our diocese with the understanding of why the ideology known as White Christian Nationalism does not align with The Episcopal Church by grounding ourselves in Scripture, Episcopal theology, and Christ’s call to love God and neighbor. Our aim is education - building clarity, compassion, and courage for faith-based civic engagement. We will explore the danger and Sin of White Christian Nationalism through scripture and other resources

You’re invited to join us at the 2026 New York Diocesan Chorister Festival at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on Saturday, January 31. This festival has always been a wonderful occasion for our young singers to unite in song together – our festival brings together choristers from all over the Northeast.
The 2026 Festival will begin at 9:00 am with Check-in and will conclude with a festive Evensong at 4pm. They day will end around 5:00 pm.
This year we are happy to invite Dr. Claudia Dumschat, a remarkable choral clinician from the Church of the Transfiguration NYC, who will join Bryan Zaros (Associate Director of Music & Choirmaster, Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine) in leading the festival, and offer great leadership to our choristers.
Like previous festivals, this festival will be a daylong event with rehearsals, cathedral tours, workshops, lunch and a festive evensong at 4:00 pm in the Cathedral.
