Northland Bible Church

Northland Bible Church "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and His Son.

Northland Bible Church would like to encourage you in four basic priorities that God has for your life.
1. God - Knowing God and enjoying fellowship with Him is life's most important purpose.

2. The Bible - God has spoken to us through the Bible. The Scriptures provide all we need to know to serve God.

3. Salvation - Eternal salvation is the gift of God to those who believe on His Son, Jesus C

hrist, and receive Him as their personal Savior.

4. The Church - The church is not a building. Rather, the church is a body of believers--a family in which all the members mutually encourage each other and work together in the worship and service of God. Real Christianity is not a Religion
It's a Relationship
Not a Religion...
The word "religion" appears only a few times in the Bible. Sometimes it is used to describe true reverence and love for God. More often "religion" refers to outward forms of worship, traditions, and even fears and superstitions. What does "religion" mean to you? A RELATIONSHIP
Religion means nothing to God unless you have a real and personal relationship with Him. While many people are busy trying to do things to gain God's acceptance, the Bible teaches that we cannot produce our own relationship with God. Jesus Christ, God's Son, had to come on our behalf and satisfy the demands of the law. Only through faith in Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, can we be assured that our sins are forgiven. By receiving God's free gift we can have a place of acceptance in His family forever! Do you have a relationship with God? "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)

“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.”
– Romans 11:36
• “Of Him” – He is the source of life.
• “Through Him” – He is the guide for life.
• “To Him” – He is the goal of life.

God doesn’t change – That’s a good thing!

“For I am the LORD, I change not…” – Malachi 3:6

Theology uses the word “immutability.” God doesn’t mutate.

• God cannot change – Because He is perfect and eternal.

• God must not change – Because the universe would collapse in chaos if He did. We need God just the way He is.

• God will not change – Because He is holy. Nothing can influence Him to change. He is not subject to bad moods and fits of anger. He is not fickle.

• God will not change – Because He is all-powerful nothing can force Him to change.

• God will not change – Because He is truth and cannot lie. He will not change His promises, His warnings, His standards.

• God will not change – Because He is love. His grace and mercy endure forever.

• God will not change – Because of the good news of the gospel. The glorious gospel tells us that He has a plan and a man, Jesus Christ His Son, who has been sent to complete that plan.

Malachi 3:6 continues, “…Therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

When God makes promises and a covenant with people. He is faithful to that, even if the people He has promised and with whom He made covenant are not. He patiently corrects and teaches. He pays for the price of their sin. Somebody has to pay. It will be His Son, Jesus Christ, not the people that He promised to love and protect.

“It is of the LORD’s mercies (steadfast love) that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore, will I hope in Him.” – Lamentations 3:22-24

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope… I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn you.” – Jeremiah 29:11; 33:3

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone sn**ch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” – John 10:27-30

A Testimony from Pastor Alex

Recently, I posted two songs, without making comment. This time I will comment. I have been doing a lot of self-examination lately. I love a lot of Christian music, but these two, plus the third one, immerge as real expressions of what I feel deeply is the essence of my life. My wife knows that I want these at my funeral someday. Most people reading this will not be at my funeral. Neither will I.

So, if you wish, please consider these three songs as a group that reflect some of the most important things to me:

1. "Who Am I"
Humility before God and the reception of His love given to me through Jesus Christ.

2. "Ancient Words"
Our life-line is knowing God through His word, by His Spirit.

3. "Maker of the Universe"
The preeminence of Jesus Christ who made us and everything else, who died for us and rose again, who is Lord of all. May your knee bow now, and your tongue confess Him as Lord now!

Our Church is gathering tonight to pray for our nation. Perhaps this prayer guide will help some of you to also seek the Lord and His strength. If we all could draw closer to the Lord, we wouldn't be that far apart from each other. Blessings! - Pastor Alex

This will take some time (1 1/2 hours), but it will help you with your view of life and the world. For many of us, this is a time when most of what we believe and hold dear is being canceled and mocked. It is time to stand up and be counted. First, we must humble ourselves and pray. Second, we need to know what we are talking about. We need to develop confidence in God and His Word.

Thank God for the sacrifices of others that have preserved our nation thus far. But as Abraham Lincoln once said, (not verbatim) "Our nation will not be conquered by outside invasion. If our nation falls it will be by internal corruption. "

Prayers, not just for godly leaders, but for godly citizens.

Blessings on your day!
