As members of the Body of Christ, we are a university parish that seeks to be a sign and instrument of the presence of Christ on the campus of the University of Toledo - and beyond! Corpus Christi University Parish is the product of a long history of the Catholic presence at the University of Toledo dating back to 1932, when Bishop Karl Alter appointed Fr. In 1970, Bishop John Donovan decided to establish a personal, non-territorial parish to serve the Catholic community at UT. Robert Kirtland as pastor and the parish voted to name itself Corpus Christi in 1976. A building project, thwarted for years by land acquisition problems, became a reality in 1998 when the current Corpus Christi facility across from the south entrance to the UT Main Campus was completed.

What if sainthood isn’t something you wait for?

Today we celebrate St. Carlo Acutis, a young Catholic who loved sports, friends, video games, and, above all, Jesus. He didn’t wait until he was older, more successful or had everything figured out to take his faith seriously. He simply chose to make God part of his everyday life.

You don’t have to wait to become a saint. Start where you are. 💙

Happy Feast of St. John Henry Newman!
Today we celebrate a saint who feels like an unofficial patron of our parish. St. John Henry Newman was a convert to the Catholic faith and the author of "The Idea of a University," in which he argued that we go to university not just to earn a degree, but to draw nearer to God.

That vision is close to our hearts. CCUP was established out of a Newman Club, and today our CSA carries that legacy forward.

When you place God at the center of all things, that's where you find the truth.

Next year's walk is set for early June so our diocesan seminarians can join before returning to seminary. New pilgrims, new roads, maybe new routes to Carey, but the same intention: each step a prayer for more priests.

Day 5! They’re in the home stretch!

Fr. Joseph and his fellow pilgrims are taking on the final and longest leg of the Walk for Vocations today: 17.58 miles from Findlay to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.

After more than 70 miles, countless prayers, and five days on the road, they’re almost there! The pilgrimage is expected to conclude around 5:30 p.m., followed by Closing Mass at 6:00 p.m.

As they make these final miles, please take a moment to pray. Way to go, Fr. Joseph! Keep walking! 🙏
