Homecoming 2026 (our first one ever) is in the books. Great praise and worship! Great message! And great food and fellowship! You ladies of Christ Fellowship brought the food. No one left hungry spiritually or physically. Thank you all for cooking and providing such a great meal. Special thank you to pastor Scott Collett for making all the meatloaf. It was so good. Special thank you to Terry Segers for getting us extra tables. Thank you to everyone who helped set up before and clean up after! It takes everyone to make the church run smoothly. We will be doing this as an annual event to celebrate every year Christ Fellowship has been here in our community! Again thank you to each one of you. I hope you all enjoyed it!

Hello Christ Fellowship. This Sunday August 30, is our 1st Homecoming Service. We will be celebrating 24 years of serving Christ and our community (actual anniversary is September 1).Worship service will be at 10:30 a.m., preaching will follow. After the service will be having lunch in the fellowship hall. The church is providing meatloaf. Some people have signed up to bring food but not many. In order for us to have enough food we still need the following items:
Vegetables (any kind of beans, corn, coleslaw, etc)
Casseroles
Bread
Dessert
Drinks: Tea, Lemonade. 2 Liter Soda’s
If everyone could bring 2-3 this would be great. If you can help serve we need you to go to the fellowships hall at the end of the sermon before alter call and announcements so we will be ready. We hope you all will bring several of your favorite side foods, drinks, desserts and join in the fellowship.

Once a year, that little church parking lot filled up with license plates from four different states, and the tables held enough food to feed twice as many people as showed up.

Church homecomings and dinner-on-the-grounds gatherings became a beloved annual tradition across rural Appalachia, congregations and scattered extended families reuniting once a year for a service followed by a massive communal potluck spread across long tables in the churchyard. For families who'd moved away for work in cities far from the mountains, homecoming Sunday became one of the few guaranteed days each year everyone found their way back to the same small church and the same long tables loaded with food.
