A message from Fr. Festus:
FROM TODAY'S GOSPEL FOR MONDAY OF 6TH WK OF EASTER 2026.

_... he (The Holy Spirit) will be my witness. And you too will be witnesses,
because you have been with me from the outset.‘I have told you all this that your faith may not be shaken.
They will expel you from the synagogues,
and..._ Jn. 15:26-16:2)_

The Power of the Holy Spirit makes Jesus disciples abandon themselves to him. Even when they have space to think or feel a bit like 'willing agents', they are positive about their track of the journey of life and the stops in it. At such points or under such spirit, little progresses matter more than failures. Even the whole gamut of failures are seen as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks.

That is the same spirit we need as Christians when the Spirit calls you to witness to the Gospel. The witness path may take various modes but identify yours. The whole apostles, except for St. John, witnessed up to shedding their blood. It was same with St. Paul. They kept counting their progresses in spite of the 'driving outs and rejections'

There will be many voices or situations discouraging you like persecutions. They will try to drive you out of the witnessing path you already identify. There will be voices like, 'why do you have to wake up early everyday to call your family for prayers or daily mass; why your time, your money in a routine manner, why this, why that. ..
Do not listen to that! Go on anyway because the Spirit will be there with you. There lies your joy, fulfillment and eternity.

A blessed working week I wish you!
Fr. Festus

Special thanks to Hilary and Warner’s Bakery for teaching our First Communion class about baking bread. They also learned the significance of bread in the Eucharist. The students all made a mini loaf of bread and then Warners baked them for them. On Sunday they got them back to take home and share with their family. And of course they were all treated to a Smiley cookie!! Warner’s Bakery
