We now have a local contractor, Floyd Craig, who is making natural burial caskets. He uses natural Tillson pine. Tillson Oak or Cedar are available on request. The caskets are made by using biscuit joint construction. The caskets are milled at his private lumber mill located approx. 1/4 mile from the cemetery. The Cemetery Association has nothing to do with the sale of these caskets. The sale of these caskets iarea private sale between contractor Floyd Craig and the customer. Mr. Craig can be reached at 845-658-9181 or [email protected]. Any other natural burial casket companies who wish to have their product mentioned here may feel free to do so by contacting the Rosendale Cemetery at www.rosendalecemetery.com.

The Town Highway crew setting the Historic Natural Burial Section corner marker for us. This marker is native to Rosendale and was procured from the famous A.J. Snyder Cement mine property. In 1869, Andrew Snyder purchased the property for the cemetery and donated it to the recently formed Rosendale Plains Cemetery Association. In 1953, he erected the buildings and entrance wall.

NATURAL BURIAL http://www.rosendalecemetery.com/natural-burial.html
Our green and natural burial section provides an option for those who wish to be interred with an emphasis on being environmentally friendly along with having a closer connection with nature. Everything from our Historic Stone Monument we got from the A.J. Snyder Cement Mine property right down to the raw linseed oil used to preserve our cedar signs is natural and native to our area. This all works towards the environmental friendly goals of protecting workers health, avoiding contact and interaction with toxic embalming fluids, reducing carbon emissions, and conserving natural resources. Our natural burial section meets all legal and natural burial ethical/professional standards. Plots are 5' X 10' in FIELD section and 10' X 10' in WOODS section. Section 15NBF denotes Natural Burial in FIELD section and Section 15NBW denotes Natural Burial in WOODS section. Our natural section will be mowed, but not as low as the conventional section of the cemetery. More about our Natural Burial can be viewed on our website at the following address: http://www.rosendalecemetery.com/natural-burial.html
