NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 2025
This 74th year since National Day of Prayer was made a National Observance in 1952, by Harry Truman, and in 1988 was made into law to be celebrated on the first Thursday in May, by President Ronald Reagan, Tillamook County, again lifted holy hands to the Lord on behalf of the nation, state and county we love. National Day of Prayer has been recognized annually by proclamation since 1969, making the First Thursday in May a Day of Prayer in Tillamook County.
We had a wonderful turn out on the most beautiful day, cherry blossoms floating through the air, children’s voices from Coastline Christian Co-op of Living Water Fellowship and Hope Inspired School of God’s Lighthouse bringing our worship as their sweet young voices lifted up “Amazing Grace” and “My Country Tis of Thee”. The kids led the Pledge of Allegiance. We were blessed to have our County Commissioner, Mary Faith Bell present for the whole prayer meeting. She presented this year’s Proclamation making the first Thursday in May, A Day of Prayer in Tillamook County. In addition to the mighty Congregation, some of the other mighty prayer warriors included Pastor Andy Frogel, Pastor Bill Creech, His Gathering, Nick Torres, Tillamook Councilman and Tillamook Co. Veteran’s Service Officer, Sheriff Office Chaplain Dan Mason, Pastor of Pacific Coast Bible Church, Ryan Young, Evangelist, Superintendent of Tillamook Schools Matt Ellis, Pastor Jeff C**n of God’s Lighthouse, Pastor Josh Meyers of the Tillamook Nazarene, Pastor Justin McMahan of Living Water Fellowship, Pastor Lacey Hawkins of Monday Musical, Carol Leuthold, Oregon Dairymen, and local dairy farmer, Chaplain Coyote Carry, Church by the River, Christian Romero and Elise Madsen, of Living Water Youth Group, and Pastor Sherri Creech, His Gathering, and Linda Hanratty, President of the Tillamook County Wide Prayer Team. The children wrapped up the Celebration by singing, “ The Blessing” over America. Amen!!!
Mission Accomplished! We prayed out to the God of Hope and were filled. Tillamook County has been celebrating this National
Observance with an annual celebration since 1969. On this day, prayer is being mobilized in almost every county of the United States. This is one of the most unifying days of the year. And we have the privilege and the freedom to stand in prayer in this most blessed nation. We prayed for many aspects of our nation - the Government, The Church, the Education System, the Media, the Family, the Military, our Law Enforcement, Businesses. We poured out our love and faith and invite our God of hope to fill all these spheres of our culture. We want our prayers and the power of agreement to touch Heaven.
Thanks to ALL of you for being a part!
Linda, Tillamook Countywide Prayer Team
