To make this happen, we believe that we live in participatory community. We participate in life sharing-community with the church. We participate in life giving-community with the world. This participatory community does not just involve supporting others as we can, but being vulnerably dependent on others as we have need–allowin

g community to come full circle. In living out this communal circle, we follow in the lesson of Jesus’ life, that the gospel is an enacted message. And it is to his Church he has entrusted the continuation of this dynamic narrative. As we live out this narrative, our prayer is that–more than just having fun with us, hearing a good sermon, or singing with some moving worship–one will say that they see Jesus here.

The Truth we’ve been seeking, has already been seeking us. His name is Jesus.

On Sunday, our guest speaker Sarah, walked us through John 1: 35-51. We got to see a few stories of the disciples seeking out Jesus - who to their surprise was already seeking them out to call them to Himself. We looked at the unique ways that Jesus met each of them in, in the ways He knew they needed.

This week as you find yourself in your circles of influence, ask yourself “am I pointing people to Jesus or to myself?”

Let’s try to be a little more like John the Baptist, whose main goal in life was to point people to only Jesus.

Who or what is your life pointing people to?

On Sunday we looked at John 1:19-34 and read about who John the Baptist was. He was a humble man who spent his life pointing people to someone greater - Jesus.

Nate reminded us, that just like John the Baptist, our significance isn’t in people knowing who we are, but in us faithfully doing what God created us to do. Influence, success, talent, a platform - none of it is bad, but it’s only useful if we know where it’s supposed to point. If we aren’t pointing people to Jesus we’ve missed it.
