Narrative Church

Narrative Church An authentic, caring community founded on God's love. We participate in life receiving-community with God.

Our church’s vision:

“To be a living, breathing gospel narrative.”

To make this happen, we believe that we live in participatory community. We participate in life sharing-community with the church. We participate in life giving-community with the world. This participatory community does not just involve supporting others as we can, but being vulnerably dependent on others as we have need–allowin

g community to come full circle. In living out this communal circle, we follow in the lesson of Jesus’ life, that the gospel is an enacted message. And it is to his Church he has entrusted the continuation of this dynamic narrative. As we live out this narrative, our prayer is that–more than just having fun with us, hearing a good sermon, or singing with some moving worship–one will say that they see Jesus here.

When we reveal our true hearts to God, He loves to meet us there, grow us, heal us, and bring us freedom.

Last Sunday, in 1 Kings 14, we learned from Jeroboam and his wife, that no matter how hard we try to hide things from God, He sees it all anyways.

If you missed last Sunday, Julie challenged us in her sermon that as believers, we have an invitation to participate in God’s redemption arc - where every tear will be wiped away and there will be no more sorrow. We can bring a little more mercy, a little more love, and a little more grace to those around us.

This past Sunday we looked at 1 Kings 12 and talked about some things that played into the kingdom of Israel dividing. One of the key players being pride and an unwillingness to listen to wise counsel.

Nate challenged us, in our own lives, to ask God to give us ears that listen, hearts that submit, and mouths that speak with humility.

Are you wholly devoted to God or something/someone else? If you missed the message last Sunday, you can catch it on our YouTube channel linked below. Last week we looked at how Solomon’s downfall may have been, in part, because he wholly devoted himself to things other than God.
