What is God’s greatest blessing?

In our spiritual life, we are not the main character, God is. We are witnesses to His work and His grace.

The moment we realize that we were already born into sin and could never meet God’s standard on our own, we can finally see His true blessing: salvation through Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and Romans 3:24 says that we are justified freely by His grace.

Just like the paralytic in John 5, the moment he realized he could not save himself through his own strength, was the moment Jesus stepped in and changed his life.

When we stop trusting in ourselves and accept that we cannot do it on our own, it becomes easy to receive the finished work of Jesus.

¿Cuál es la mayor bendición de Dios?

En nuestra vida espiritual, nosotros no somos los protagonistas; Dios lo es. Somos testigos de Su obra y de Su gracia.

En el momento en que nos damos cuenta de que ya nacimos en el pecado y de que, por nosotros mismos, jamás podríamos cumplir con el estándar de Dios, podemos finalmente ver Su verdadera bendición: la salvación a través de Jesucristo.

Romanos 3:23 dice que todos han pecado y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios, y Romanos 3:24 dice que somos justificados gratuitamente por Su gracia.

Tal como le sucedió al paralítico en Juan 5: el momento en que se dio cuenta de que no podía salvarse a sí mismo por sus propias fuerzas fue el momento en que Jesús intervino y transformó su vida.

Cuando dejamos de confiar en nosotros mismos y aceptamos que no podemos lograrlo por nuestra cuenta, resulta fácil recibir la obra consumada de Jesús.

On May 16th, Kingdom Vibes in collaboration with Christian Youth Association (CYA) hosted a Worship Night where young adults from across the Portland metropolitan area gathered to worship God and build connections through fellowship and the Word.

Pastor Ricardo Godinez from Good News Portland Church shared about the New Covenant God has given us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we have been cleansed, justified, sanctified, and made new.

“He will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”— Jeremiah 31:34

Just as butterflies begin as caterpillars, we too were once lost in sin, but through Jesus Christ we have been transformed into new creations.

We were also reminded of Jesus’ words to the woman caught in adultery: “Neither do I condemn thee.”— John 8:11

We sincerely thank everyone who attended and all the volunteers who served to make this night possible.

We are excited for what God has prepared ahead and are planning another Worship Night in June. Stay connected — we hope to see you there and maybe even serving alongside us!

The bible calls our hearts 100% evil.
This Sunday took an inward look at ourselves through the Word of God. Genesis 6:5, Jeremiah 17:9, and Ecclesiastes 3:9 make it clear that our hearts are a disease. Only evil, deception, and madness comes out of our hearts. Interestingly, humans do not believe this. That is why when we follow our hearts, we lead ourselves to destruction.
How can we be free from this evil heart?
Because we do not know our hearts are evil, God allows us to see our image through the law. James 2:10 says “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” Under the old covenant, no matter how hard people try to keep the commandments religiously, they fail and the heart remains sinful. In Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 10:15-18, God gave us the new covenant. Hebrews 10:17 says “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
It is no longer “try harder”, but it is a promise from God saying “your sins are forgiven”.

La Biblia llama a nuestros corazones 100% malvados.
Este domingo nos miramos a nosotros mismos a través de la Palabra de Dios. Génesis 6:5, Jeremías 17:9, y Eclesiastés 3:9 dejan claro que nuestros corazones son una enfermedad. Solo el mal, el engaño y la locura salen de nuestros corazones. Curiosamente, los humanos no creen esto. Es por eso que cuando seguimos nuestros corazones, nos dirigimos a la destrucción.
¿Cómo podemos liberarnos de este malvado corazón?
Debido a que no sabemos que nuestros corazones son malos, Dios nos permite ver nuestra imagen a través de la ley. Santiago 2:10 dice: “Porque cualquiera que guardare toda la ley, pero ofendiere en un punto, será culpable de todos”. Bajo el antiguo pacto, no importa cuán difícilmente las personas traten de guardar los mandamientos religiosamente, fallan y el corazón permanece pecaminoso. En Jeremías 31:31-34 y Hebreos 10:15-18, Dios nos dio el nuevo pacto. Hebreos 10:17 dice: “Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados e iniquidades”.
Ya no es “tratar más duro”, pero es una promesa de Dios diciendo “tus pecados son perdonados”.

Last Sunday, May 10, we held the Outdoor Service, also celebrating Mother’s Day.

We thank God because several new people were able to participate and listen to the Gospel, we enjoyed delicious food and also had a special time of recreation and sports.

Although it was not easy to find a suitable place, God allowed us to find a good place and the brothers and sisters were happy to see that their relatives were able to hear the Gospel for the first time.

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
— 1 Timothy 2:4

El pasado domingo 10 de mayo realizamos el Culto al aire libre, celebrando también el Día de las Madres.

Damos gracias a Dios porque varias personas nuevas pudieron participar y escucharon el Evangelio, disfrutamos de deliciosa comida y también tuvimos un tiempo especial de recreación y deportes.

Aunque no fue fácil encontrar un lugar adecuado, Dios nos permitió hallar un buen lugar y los hermanos y hermanas estuvieron contentos al ver que sus familiares pudieron escuchar el Evangelio por primera vez.

“El cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos y vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.”
— 1 Timoteo 2:4

Do you believe?
Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:8-9 declares all his status worthless compared to knowing Jesus Christ. Paul desires to be found in Christ, not with a righteousness that comes from himself through the law, but instead with righteousness that comes through faith in what Jesus Christ had finished.
What makes righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ different? Acts 13:38-39 tells us that through the law, we could never be justified. Those who meet one condition–believing in the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ–are justified in front of God. We are so thankful to hear this message of God's grace and share hope with our guests through the Word.

On May 2nd, a Discipleship Training was held at Good News Portland Church with guest speaker Pastor Jorge Figueredo from Iglesia Buenas Nuevas Bay Area. He spoke on repentance and faith, emphasizing the importance of establishing God’s promise in our hearts.

About eight guests attended and heard the Gospel. The message focused on understanding how God sees us and how He solved the problem of sin through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:19 was highlighted, showing that through one man sin came, and through Jesus we are made righteous. The pastor also explained how Old Testament sacrifices pointed to Christ, who fulfilled the New Covenant (Hebrews 9–12).

Several newcomers received salvation by believing God’s promise in Hebrews 10:17. Members of Good News Portland Church rejoiced, seeing God at work according to His promise (1 Timothy 2:4).

What is true healing?
In Mark 2:1-12, we were able to learn about Gods heart and what he truly wants to heal in our lives. The friends of a paralytic man believed that Jesus could heal him, so they lowered him through a roof to reach Jesus. Jesus had seen the faith of his friends, and he said to the paralytic man, “Son thy sins be forgiven thee”
Afterward, the man was also healed from his paralysis.
Through this we can see that God wants the sin in our hearts to be resolved through the blood of Jesus first. Without the forgiveness of sins, we cannot have a connection to God. The forgiveness of sins is true healing that only Jesus could accomplish for us. Amen.
