Joshua 6:1-3 "Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none went in. And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days."

Joshua 6:10 "And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout."

Friends, our great victory is coming, but we have a job to do. It is time to march silently for a time and wait for that time to shout.....Victory!

We would like to take this time to once again welcome everyone to our ministry. I am Christine Hoffman, the outreach coordinator here at Lydia Ministries and we have some exciting things planned for this year.

First and foremost, I would like to say that this month marks the fifth month that we have been having small prayer group meetings every Friday night.

During the course of this time, we have seen God move in many ways in our lives and the lives of others. Thank you Jesus for your continued blessings! We are now extending this invitation beyond our ministry and church to the rest of the community.

If you would like prayer, if you would like to fellowship, or even if you're not quite sure where you're at just quite yet, please feel free to come and join us.
Drinks and snacks are provided.
All we need you to bring is yourself and your bible. If you don't have a bible, we do have extras. So come on out and join us for this time of prayer and fellowship.

Friday Nights 6:30 pm

The second thing I wanted to mention is that we are now accepting can good and non-perishable food donations for our "Operation: Love" project that will be kicking off in June. These donations can be dropped off during the prayer meetings or arrangements can be made by calling (567) 207-1719. More information about the project will follow in a separate post. Thank you everyone for all your love and support and God Bless!

How many are plagued with this question? Can you really love someone that has caused you a great deal of pain?

If we look into the scriptures, we see that Jesus loved all of us in the greatest ways possible. He healed people, He delivered people and He even brought the dead back to life. Jesus did many wonderful things during his three years of ministry but when it came down to it, this had not set well with many of the religious leaders. When it came time to decide what to do with Jesus, some of the same people he had helped heal, deliver, and set free, stood in that crowd and screamed "Crucify Him!!". How do you think Jesus felt walking through the streets with a crown of thorns on his head, naked, and carrying a heavy wooden cross? Keep in mind that he was whipped and beaten before that and now he walks down the streets like this. How do you think he felt? He gets to Golgotha and they nail him to this cross and stand him up. As he hangs there, they put a spear in his side and he begins to cry out. How do you think he felt? He cried out "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

That is pain my friends. The scriptures goes on further to say in Romans 5:8-9
"But God commended his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
Jesus still loved us after all we did to him. He gave us Grace. Grace is defined as the unmerited favor of God. We didn't deserve it!!

As you look at your own life today, there maybe things that have caused you pain and people right behind it. It is time to take the pain and lay it at the foot of the Cross and extend that same Grace and forgiveness to them that God gave to us. This allows you to walk in the freedom and liberty that the Lord Jesus Christ gives us and allows us to have the Love of Christ for others and restore our Peace and our Joy. So can you really love someone who has caused you pain? Absolutely!

1 John 4:18-21
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear : because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."

Every time we have to face something difficult, often it can be even more difficult to know where to go for help. First of all, we must spend time alone with God in the secret place. We must get alone with God and seek him out as to what we need. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

After we have taken this time with God we need to seek his word. Here are some scriptures that are more situation specific to help get you started as you are looking for help in whatever your need may be. Thank you and May God Bless You!

Happy New Year! May the Lord continue to bless us all in this year just as he did the last. May we move forward into this year with a renewed faith, with a stronger faith than ever before knowing that in each battle we face, he is with us. May we continue to lift up the name of Jesus, that others may come to know him as well. May we continue to encourage and pray for each other. We look forward to seeing the Lord move in each and everyone's life this year!

When we think of this time each year, we think of family, we think of Love, Happiness, and Joy. Often times, we seem to forget that some people don't have family, some people don't have friends, some people are hurting, some people are depressed. And yet we carry on about our daily lives, and as I heard one local Pastor say " We are Fa La La La La" and some people out there right now could care less if they were even here. If I am talking to you right now then listen up because I am talking to two groups of people here.

If you have a family and all is well, then Bless you, but remember the brokenhearted this year in your prayers. If you see the brokenhearted and can make a difference do it! Bring someone home with you this year for your get together. Make them a part of your family even if it is just for a day. You might not know what tragedy you just stopped by doing that. They might have never have experienced such love and the result may be a surrender of thier life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Make a vacancy in your home for them just a we make a vacancy in our heart for Jesus.

This next part goes out to those who feel like no one cares. When you feel like you are all alone and everyone has forgotten about you, that is not true. Jesus Christ loves you more than you will ever know. You may feel alone but you are never really alone. Jesus said "I will never leave you, nor forsake you". When Jesus says something he means it. Right when you feel like you just can't go on anymore, start praying, start praising him. He will pick you up and carry you. You are his child!

I am hearing a song that I would like to end with to anyone that might be lonely.
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS!

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
