This summer, we're excited to welcome Jeremy Smith, a seminarian for the Diocese of Toledo, who will be joining us for the summer months as part of his formation for priesthood. Please join us in welcoming him!
A little introduction from Jeremy ⬇️

Hello! My name is Jeremy Smith and I’m greatly pleased to be the summer seminarian here at St. Joseph Parish in Tiffin. Just a little about me, I’m 28 and my home parish is St. Joseph in Fort Jennings, which is a small town in southwest Putnam County for those who aren’t familiar with it. I’m the youngest of four, with one brother and two sisters. However, my brother is the closest to me in age despite being 10 years older than me. I have five nephews and three nieces, and I always love getting to spend time with them.
I’ve always been a bit more athletically minded, playing basketball, soccer, golf, and a little bit of baseball while growing up. I enjoy watching just about all sports and have a favorite team for most leagues. I like to stay active in different ways whether it’s working out, going hiking or kayaking, or just taking a walk to pray the rosary. I also like to relax by reading, watching a movie, or enjoying a cigar with a glass of bourbon.
Prior to seminary, I went to college at the University of Toledo and graduated in 2020 with degrees in accounting and human resources. I then started working at Marathon Petroleum in Findlay as a corporate income tax accountant for about 4 years when I decided to leave my career behind and follow God’s call to discern the priesthood. I’m excited for what God has in store in these next two months, and I look forward to getting to know you all. Please know of my prayers for you and please pray for me!
